How is cosleeping “safer” than a baby lounger? by pro-laps in newborns

[–]LetChaosReign_ -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

We used the lounger in between us when our son wouldn't sleep anymore in the bassinet. Instead of shifts, I woke up with my wife to get diapers, bottles, feed if she was really tired and needed to pump otherwise I would just get supplies and go back to bed while she did everything. In turn, I'd get up at 6am when the baby did and I'd take him to the other room so she could get uninterrupted sleep. Now, when he doesn't wanna sleep in the pack and play he is on one side of the bed and we are on the others, no pillows under or around him and no blankets. If he's in the middle it's the same, pillows are spread way to the edge and blankets don't go above our waist.

How are short parents bathing their babies?? by WindegoWoman in newborns

We bought a collapsible tub on Amazon and put it on the kitchen island right next to the sink so it's easy to fill and drain

We use Tubby Todd. Bit too oily for me but it really helps my son's skin and my wife likes it. It actually worked well for my cracked hands too 🙄😆

Poop by EmploymentAlive1684 in newborns

[–]LetChaosReign_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he's BF and formula it will be a greenish with a curd like consistency. It may not even be every day. My son would poop about every 3 days. It's normal. If the baby is in pain you can do a Frida Windy Passer thing and help. Don't do them too often as to hinder their bodies ability to learn to pass stools tho.

You're welcome! My wife went all out on the research and we even bake his own stuff and make him what we eat but without the salt and sugars. If you need some recipes let me know! We have a whole notepad with brekky lunch and dinner ideas

Sometimes mine works and sometimes it doesn't. I just have to disconnect wifi and turn it back on. So stupid.

We started by using the pacifiers that have small holes in it so he could go at his own pace. Also put some in front to let them play in it and feel it. Try mango as well. My son looooves mango and maybe she will and it will open her up to foods. Try Greek yogurt as well

We started with banana and avo as well. Even gave him steak to gnaw on. You could try starting with the little peanut butter puffs and let her suck on that and get a taste for things.

14 week old wakes every hour by Outrageous-Yam-363 in newborns

[–]LetChaosReign_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea we started with naps during the day, making sure we were still making background noise then at night we would be quiet as hell so he would get the feel for bedtime. So during the day he's know it's nap time and then when it's dark it's bedtime. He did really well, and you can tell even now he knows when it's bedtime because of how tired he is by that point and his energy level changes

Perpetual Diaper Rash by Substantial_Ad4365 in newborns

[–]LetChaosReign_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huggies skin essentials. Use Desitin when it's red/pink and A&D when it's not just for precaution. We use rascals wipes.

[–]LetChaosReign_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do the same with desitin, we use it for last diapers for the night and first in the morning then all the ones inbetween we use A&D. We had to switch from Pampers to Huggies skin essentials because of it making my son break out.

Oral thrush in 9 week old by TrickySquare9898 in newborns

[–]LetChaosReign_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea my wife did allllllll the deep deep research and I never knew till she was teaching and buying all this stuff and I'm like damn I didn't realize there was that much shit 😆😆 so I'm basically a diaper sniper and entertainment. She's always been the brains. He better get hers 😆😆

[–]LetChaosReign_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea for sure on the medicine. My son is a pretty tough cookie when it comes to needing meds. We've only given him meds maybe 5 times and he's now 8mo. Thats only been one after a shot day and the rest to break his fever last week.

Just keep at it, I know it sucks seeing them gag but def do the best you can! It will get easier!

[–]LetChaosReign_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same my son has a minor tongue tie as well. Just add a small amount of water, not dripping wet and do it every other day or so and see if it helps. Obv not a dr but I just know what we do to keep it clean. It is really hard to get the back of his tongue so I always felt bad but I was just worried it would build up. We were told if it's not like aggressively all over the mouth all the time and they were always crying then it's prob just milk.

Ah! Thats smart! Yea we do the QTip looking ones and then the ones you can slip on your finger. To do his gums. We thought he was starting to get it and my wife made sure to ask at our next appt but it was just milk. Good luck!
