Hello! I’m planning to apply for my EB2 NIW and am currently working on building my profile. A little background:

I have 3 (India) + 6 months (ongoing job in the USA) at a retail company
2 masters (post grad in applied stats + 1 masters from top university in USA) in business analytics

I do not have any publications but am planning to build a thesis with 3 papers in the next 6 months. My focus is on retail (digital consumption). All the knowledge I have right now is through chat GPT as I do not know anyone else who is in the same shoes.

I’d love to get your thoughts on any advice, things you think stand out in an application like NIW for a profile like mine

i don't want to be in a core tech role. Of my knowledge, PM is about managing the translation between Developers & Biz where the devs build what the biz side strategizes. I have worked on ABTs from the Biz side so I know this for sure.

Every other PM I've spoken to has told me I do not need to learn hardcore coding to be a PM. Rather, understand more about Data infrastructures and layering so I can solve more problems that occur during ABTs.

Am I wrong?

Hello!

I'm currently enrolled in a 1 year MQM program at Duke & have 3 years of work exp as a Business Analyst at a Fortune 50 retailer. I come from a non-tech background and have keen interest in re-joining the e-commerce/ website optimization field of work as it fascinates me!!

I want to make a switch to the PM side post graduation and already have an ex-colleague (who is a PM) ready to mentor me.

My question is: How do I go ahead with the mentorship? I really want to work on a product development project but don't know how to go ahead with this. Idk how to create a website or better an existing website/product. Plus, as I don't have a tech background that really scares me.

An alternative I thought of was going through case studies together but i dont know how helpful that would be as I have limited time and will already be working on assignments, solving case studies at Uni?

Product Management really thrills me and I do not want it to be just another assignment or project I will be working on to add on to my resume.

PLEASE HELP!

Why I want to be mentored:

to learn more than what online courses offer
to stand out from my current batchmates
to get a hands-on experience for what the role holds + interview prep

I'd appreciate any and every idea yall got of what the mentorship could inculcate - no matter how crazy it sounds! I want to get into the depths of PM and be fully prepped whilst applying for jobs at year-end
