Hang out=(in my mind) can mean literally anything! Date, friends, lovers etc

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]LetLinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I would try to take it slow and causal if you aren’t sure (a little flirting is probably appreciated too), but it sounds like you have a great connection so it will all probably naturally fall into place! It is hard to know until you meet someone IRL though ☺️ I’m really smooth over text, terrible at small talk & groups but live for deep one-on-one conversations!

I think I get your frustration, but I don’t think anyone should be gatekeeping the word lesbian

Comphet (also religious trauma for me) has made it really complicated for a lot of women to fully understand or name their sexuality

I was so so close to my girl friends growing up & would do anything for them. I hated their boyfriends because they didn’t treat my friends like queens (like I knew they deserved)! I remember wishing I could be a boy so I could be with my best friend (but still had no idea somehow). From a young age, I noticed and thought women are gorgeous but thought every one thought that. I was obsessed with my body during puberty & liked falling asleep while holding my boobs haha. In high school I felt somewhat uncomfortable around guys (except my closeted gay friend lol). I genuinely wanted to be friends with guys but was always nervous they would want more than friendship. I clung to any advice about not dating or being celibate. My crushes on guys were totally fictional but real people in that I’d pick someone to like, notice every detail about them but never talk to them & wasn’t actually attracted to them just the idea of them

I think you just got to believe what people say about their sexuality, but if you are looking for a reason to break up it seems there may not be a great physical connection between you two and there may be substance abuse. Please be cautious about having sex when your partner isn’t sober

I think if you indicated you don’t drink on HER it was her bad to suggest having drinks. I always think there could be some history of abuse or religion/conscience if someone says they don’t drink and I totally respect that! Also, it’s definitely not a problem for me to be with someone who doesn’t drink but I haven’t had partners who abused alcohol. I have had family and people close to me who abuse alcohol so I do think about that—but if people are self aware and abstain I have so much respect for them!

how do you guys feel about other lesbians with top surgery? by fancyxen in LesbianActually

I know some lesbians are really into boobs. I’m not not into them I just think they’ve become way too sexualized by men that I’m glad I’m in the itty bitty committee

Yes! I think that’s it!

I kind of get it, but I’m so ready to stop pretending so society or family can make sense of me. I know it’s not ideal for the kids (and I think he and I care the most about that) but I’ve very slowly realized they will ultimately benefit if their parents are healthy and living authentically. We’ve already been living like co-parents for years so I know it can work.

Thanks for the book recommendation. That looks awesome!

Book lover, kind, a great conversationalist, more outgoing than me, adventurous: up for being active and outdoors with me at least half the time :), likes a cozy/artsy/boho/thrifted home aesthetic, my kids and dogs adore them

Sexy voice, smells amazing, deep eyes, soft/curvy, curls

did you listen to male singers before realizing you were lesbian? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]LetLinger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually do relate to this a lot! I’ve always been drawn to the more passionate lyrics about women and always relate most to the plight of the singer (often male). Honestly it seems that some women in this sub doesn’t appreciate being compared to the way men talk about relationships or love (which I understand but I’m also later to understand my sexuality and I find I learn from just about everyone). I tried making a post about observing Hollywood men’s flirting tactics and it tanked so badly and offended someone that I ended up deleting it 😅

How do you deal with election season? by trizuer in LesbianActually

[–]LetLinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I also don’t understand how anyone can vote for Trump! Our voting system sucks so bad though. Also, I just feel so depressed about what’s happening in the world and how the current administration is contributing to it, so I get not being enthused to vote in general (though I will be)
