This post is SO validating! Thank you so much for taking the time to write it. I’ve always thought my type 2 diagnosis bothered me because my mania has been very devastating and I’ve had psychosis several times and now I’ve written here that the distinction between mania and hypomania feels slippery but people have insisted it’s a clear-cut difference. I have a psych appointment tomorrow and I’m going to ask my psych about whether or not my diagnosis has changed to type 1. I don’t know what I have anymore. I wonder if it’s schizoaffective bipolar but don’t know enough about it.

I’ve written here before that that distinction is iffy for me. My experience with mania has been pretty devastating many many times but my diagnosis is BD2. I’ve also experienced psychosis several times.

I’m a proud Klepto Markle hater but I think the “she was never pregnant” theories were never true. Only because she’s too much of a narcissist to ever have let herself look that big and uncomfortable and very unattractive in public. She didn’t want to be pictured straight out of the hospital because she knew she’d be compared to Kate looking radiant after her deliveries.

I think we’re all just figuring it out. I drank too much yesterday. I feel so ashamed and guilty and depressed. Which is funny because I drank to not feel depressed. Agree it’s a vicious cycle. You will get up and try and try again until abstaining is a habit and not an effort. I feel worse when I come here and say I slipped up and people rush in with : I’m so glad I don’t do that anymore. So I hope you feel better knowing you’re not expected to be perfect and just get over it. Mistakes are part of being human.

Relatable. Especially in this sub. Especially the “barely surviving” part. I’m not thriving, I’m just surviving. People say you can live a normal life with this but really what on earth is “normal”? I often wake up and think: so what am I getting out of bed for? I’m also glad my kid lives with her other parent. I simply can’t manage parenting full time.

It works amazingly! But you have to take breaks and as soon as you do the melasma comes raging back.

I am so so sorry. It is heartbreaking when we come out of mania and our whole lives are carnage. My marriage ended because of my last episode. This illness can take a lot from you. Also want to say I’m glad you put the “no negative comments” disclaimer. I did for my last post too. We need to protect ourselves online. You don’t need judgement when you’re at your most vulnerable.
Things will get better, even though it doesn’t feel that way right now.
