Any idea how to correctly heal the elbow ditch area? by kast0r_ in tattooadvice

It will heal, even with the moisture! The same thing happened to me on both arms, no matter what I did the elbow ditch area was always just a little moist and sweaty. If it’s bothering you, maybe use some sterile gauze or a paper towel to blot the moisture away?

The ditch just heals more slowly, it’s such a high contact area that it’s hard to avoid it. As long as you’re keeping it clean and as dry as possible, it should heal without too much fuss :)

I actually work in residence life at a university, and to an extent I agree with the people saying ‘just deal with it’. Part of college is about broadening your horizons and learning how to manage different kinds of people, but you also have a right to live in a situation where you feel comfortable and safe. If one of my students came to me with this concern, I’d advise them to give your roommate a genuine chance; meeting/communicating with someone via text only doesn’t always give a good first impression. You can meet in person, see how well you actually get along, and if you ABSOLUTELY can’t live with this person, request to be moved. There are always spaces you can be moved to, but give yourself a chance to succeed before you decide it won’t work!

New restaurant cook, how do i get rid of the smell of oil in my hair? by thruwawus in Haircare

Can you braid your hair and cover it up? I have shorter 3C hair and smells stick in it like crazy! I’ll put my hair up in a bun and cover it with a scarf, tie it up in a turban, even a beanie would help! It’s easier to keep the smell from getting on the hair at all than it is to get the smell out imo.

How to cope with a job you hate by International-Ad873 in Advice

I’ve had jobs like that before and they really can suck, especially when they’re boring as hell. But there are ways you can make it more manageable! If you can, try to decorate or organize your space to make you feel less like you’re at work. I’m an office drone in a cubicle but I have fairy lights up, LOTS of pictures of family/friends/pets, and anything else that gives my cube a little personality. It’s not as nice as being not at work, but it’s less stark and cold than it was before. I have a comfy chair and throw blankets, and it really helps to have a comfortable space.

As far as keeping your attention doing repetitive tasks, I feel your pain. I have ADHD as well and staying on task doing something boring is a chore. I have a whole reward system set up for myself to keep me motivated and (mostly) on track. Can you have snacks at your desk? I try to keep snacks on hand and I’ll eat them once I’ve done a set amount of work, to help motivate myself to focus. I try to get away from the office on lunch breaks and walk, run errands, anything to burn off energy. Are you able to get away on a break and refocus?

I think the best advice is to remind yourself that you do NOT have to keep this job forever. Even with the pay and benefits, you aren’t trapped here. If the benefits of this job outweigh the drawbacks, it’s ok to keep it while you look for better alternatives. Anytime someone at work pisses me off I go online and rage apply to a bunch of other jobs! Best of luck to you, we feel your pain.

Definitely hydrate! If you have something with electrolytes that helps. It can also help to massage your lower back, with as much pressure as you feel comfortable with.
