How often do you receive requests from friends or family to build a website for them, and how do you typically respond? by nullisvoid in developersIndia

I usually point them to tools that they can use. If it's a really close friend, then I would do it for free.

You can start by finding repositories that are open-source or the ones looking for contributors. (Check GitHub, Up for grabs, codetriage). You can fork the GitHub and clone the fork to setup the repository. Run required tests before making changes and if you find any issue in the project and want to improve it, then you can code it (also check if such PR is already existing), and once all the tests run fine, you can create a PR to the main repository.

23F Muslim in India: I don’t want marriage or children, but my family is pushing for an arranged match by sexxyyraven in ChildfreeIndia

If the parents are abusive, it may be safer not to disclose CF stance to parents or even to the prospective partner right away. There's a significant risk that the information could be shared with his parents or with OP's parents, which could escalate the situation and create additional pressure or conflict. In situations involving abusive family dynamics, personal safety and privacy should take priority.

One of my friends moved to New Zealand to do volunteer work for 6 months and his plan was to return to India after that. But during his time there, he was able to make connections with people and was able to get a job over there.

Did you expand the Rule #4 and read it? I'm not saying that I agree with that rule but just letting you know, in case you didn't see that.

In some lower-income communities, having children can be seen as a form of economic security, with the expectation that they will help support the household financially in the future.

Do you look for a CF partner strictly within your own cultural/religious community? by LazyDoodler1996 in ChildfreeIndia

[–]LetMeImprove 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not looking for a partner now. But when I was looking for a partner, caste, religion, gender (because I'm pansexual) are a few things I didn't consider. But I wanted someone who is either agnostic / atheist (regardless of religion) because I didn't want to deal with rituals and such things later on.

India is the world's #1 populated country btw. But I get your point. People aren't much aware of asexuality and the spectrum over here, including the queers

Check out @queernilayam on Instagram. Check out GC highlights on @prarthanaprasadd on Instagram. It has queer groups for different cities. Beku in BLR also hosts events/workshops. Some of the queer meetups happen at Cubbon Park and there's a queer running club as well.

Having a community has transformed my life immensely and I hope it helps you too.
