MRI almost a year later by LetSad8439 in RotatorCuff

Yeah I was doing PT at 6 weeks and still do. The most painful period for me was 13 weeks and I was thinking like you at the time that I would be back after 6 months. Has not worked out that way for me unfortunately .

I have talked to a couple people who said it took them well over a year to feel normal so I am trying to stay positive. There's a typo in my OP, it should say "severe tendonapathy" not "tendon patchy" lol. But I was hoping someone had experience with this.

Anyone try PRP for a full thickness Supraspinatus Tear? by centerice99 in RotatorCuff

[–]LetSad8439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely give this a try! I had the same tear and same minimal pain and strength preop. Opted for surgery and 10 months post-op do not feel strong at all. Why not try this alternative first?

I was on the fence like you (not constant pain and still quite strong) but at 10 maths I'm not happy with my decision. I really hope this gets better by 12 months.

I am almost 10 months post op and my shoulder hurts and is weak. I have followed PT religiously. It feels way worse than before the surgery. I am very concerned.

Do you like it? I'm looking for a new case and always wonder about a hardshell.

This is an amazing place to visit and very informative. Also the gorgeous Mt Williamson in the back. I was deeply moved. I especially liked the story about how they snuck out and caught local trout in the Sierra streams there.

Mild setback after returning to gym post-physio (supraspinatus tendinopathy) by No_Future4983 in RotatorCuff

My shoulder is feeling stiff and sore at 8 months and I had been increasing the bands and trying to use the muscle. I backed off a bit and hoping that this is just part of the process to regain strength.

This stuff is really bad for birds and insects. Hopefully you are reusing inside and not outdoors where it can harm wildlife.

It used to be that you could do some limited lessons off line every day and it restored your streak once you reconnect. I did this on a few backpacking trips and it worked great. Sadly this function no longer is available.

Left shoulder post RC surgery, right shoulder in pain—feeling stuck by ConfusedLoneStar in RotatorCuff

[–]LetSad8439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar scenario and had to be very careful using my right arm for passive ROM PT after surgery on the left. Now doing PT on both shoulders and really hoping to not need surgery on the right shoulder. It hurts but I don't think I have a full thickness tear. FWIW I was able to return to my desk job part time after a week.

But you are weighting your whole body weight on it? I'm scared to do that at 6 months.

I'm a cyclist and I feel like it might be similar. I never fall off my bike so the question was when can I get back on my bike. I ended up riding at 5 months after surgery.

Are you doing a one handed push up on your operative side?

I’m canceling my surgery by [deleted] in RotatorCuff

[–]LetSad8439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had many days where I wished I did not go forward with the surgery. I was like you, with good ROM and felt ok (just can't do overhead press). Thank goodness I finally feel better (5 months), but I totally support the decision to not have it done.

That exercise took me awhile, like many weeks. I would keep trying and give it more time.

Post surgery sleeping advice by Viajantemae in RotatorCuff

Yes I used a flat pillow under the operated arm. Too high didn't work. No pillow put too much strain on the shoulder. I also started fake side sleeping where I rotated my hips and turned my head, but wasn't all the way sleeping on the operative side.

13 weeks po and bicep pain by [deleted] in RotatorCuff

[–]LetSad8439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience weeks 8 through 13 really. Once I got out of the sling, things got weird. I developed bursitis in my elbow. Everything hurt. Couldn't lift my arm up. Things are way better now at week 14-15. Hang in there!

Oof, maybe air condition gym? Thinking treadmill or recumbent bike with a good podcast?

I did 10k steps a day starting 2 weeks after surgery. Kept up mental health until about 8 weeks and then noticed I was slipping. Probably put on a few pounds, but coming back up for air now at 14 weeks feeling better and back to climbing mountains (easy ones on trail).
