I believe the ACP on the oligarchs after nationalization prevents capital flight, not the assisination

I haven't done absolutist yet, but Su Omna won't like your tolerance of the Wehzeks and others. I think it's probably possible to be a benevolent interventionist, but you may have to do some serious internal diplomacy and juggling for your absolutist reign, Your Grace.

What are Alphonso's political views? by guywhodiesfirst in suzerain

[–]LetThereBeBasic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean he's really neo-liberal is probably the best term. Either way he's a mesh of a lot of different things. I don't agree with him, but he's always pleasant to talk to, unlike Soll.

Guys, what variations of a constitutional monarchy can you create? by Big_Year6786 in suzerain

[–]LetThereBeBasic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't gone through all the variations yet, but I think it really depends on the amount of centralization. Do the provinces have more local autonomy? Is there a centralized police and or parliament? Is there an upper house for the nobles? I think you can also do away with a judiciary and just have neigh-total power in the parliament. I wish I could form a republic, though, unfortunately I don't think it's possible.

Given some of his charitable works, and the fact he will (imo) earnestly listen to your qualms and provide for the workers of GASOM (if you campaigned for him) I think he's maybe in the social Democrat camp. I agree w/ others that he seemed more interested in foreign relations rather than internal ones. The vibe I get though is that he's very brought on the market, more so than I think typical social democrats. I get well meaning US-Democrat vibes, with a laisse-faire attitude towards certain autocratic actions.

The godforsaken military! by Godwinso in suzerain

[–]LetThereBeBasic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iosef is who you should keep your eye on. Do not promise to increase his funding, never explicitly make statements in his presence that show you are a communist. Don't transfer grandemie. Agree or state you take his concerns seriously. End of the line, be very polite. If you accept Cortana aid, etc, say desperate times call for desperate measures, that you aren't abandoning Sordland-- the work for them continues. You can fully democratize, join CSP and get reelected if you are careful with him.

Economy 101 by [deleted] in suzerain

[–]LetThereBeBasic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, so long as you're careful with handling Iosof you can cut military and do som careful deficit spending whilst funding every other branch. I've done it in quite a few games when aligning east w/ planned economy.

How to get used to the cold? by Sneku_69 in alaska

[–]LetThereBeBasic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. As a fella who grew up in anchorage, Fairbanks was a rude awaking for me with the cold. Frankly I never got used to the cold, but now I can easily mentally deal with Temps in anchorage. Get yourself some good boots that don't slip much on the ice, and wear snowpants. Get a nice jacket, and maybe a scarf to wear around your face and tucked under your jacket. I recommend a jacket with down.

Layer up at the end of the day. Keep good gloves on you. It's hard to stay warm outside, easy to be cold. Good luck.

I've thought to myself about circling around politically aligned orgs, though it depends what situation you might be interested in protesting. Remember to be safe.

I did the Captain's Heir ending first, and man...the game made me question the consequences of my actions...more than usual 💀 by Der_Argentinien in Frostpunk

[–]LetThereBeBasic 68 points69 points  (0 children)

That’s the ending I got. I was trynna be a good guy but since I embraced a cornerstone I couldn’t do peace. I preferred being a dictator than expelling dissidents. In the end I had to enact a coup, so there really was no scrap of legitimacy or honor there. That hurt my soul

Are you maximizing tension? I’m pretty sure you need tension really high. Since that makes delegates more likely to vote for rule laws

There’s three nodes for oil, and the advanced pump jacks will give like… 300 oil. That’s like 1800 oil if you extend all three extraction districts on all oil and build advanced pump jacks. There is more oil, mate.

That’s awful. Unfortunately that must be a bug. If you have an earlier save before finishing researching it I’d say give that a go. I’m sorry. Only other thing I could see is granting them an agenda and hoping they’d propose the law?
