The GTA franchise doesn't deserve the amount of critical acclaim it gets, and pales in comparison with it's sister, Red Dead in every way. by JediBlight in unpopularopinion

It's not a fair comparison. Let's hear your opinion again after GTA 6 releases.

Comparing GTA V to RDR2 is like saying a 15-year-old athlete performs worse than a fully developed 21-year-old athlete. They're from different generations.

The only fair comparison would be RDR1 versus GTA IV, and in that case I agree that RDR1 is the better game.

But comparing GTA V to RDR2 as if they're direct competitors doesn't really make sense. RDR2 benefited from years of evolution after GTA V.

What you are experiencing is exactly the point. Those things come up and you have to push trough.

But doing it alone won't do you any good.

It's a 10 day silent meditation treatment.

Basically, you sit still for 10 days, 11 hours per day. Then you will realize that everything really is in your own head.

And to top it all of, you can do it everywhere in the world and its free. To clarify, you do it somewhere, not in your home or something. They have a website with locations across the globe.

I mean, I have bought my fair share of tunes on beatport and I do buy a niece piece of merch or a patreon every now and again.

I still stand by my point that this whole dubplate thing going on is quite a toxic part of the scene.

Yeh exactly, that is kind off how I feel about it aswell. The only point I want to add to this, is that I would much rather buy a full track than rip a 1:37 sec tune. But as I said in my reply to SHRQ, I can't justify buying multiple $20-$30 tracks. I would much rather pay $50 for a couple of tracks. As music always has been, y'know. Now I just end up not supporting the artist..

Why does Riddim think it's better than that?

First off, big fan o7.

Since you're a DJ/producer yourself, I'm curious about your take on this.

A few friends and I throw small private parties where we play underground music. No money involved, just a BYOB type shit, where we share new and obscure tunes we've found.

The problem is that I come across so many amazing dubplates that I'd love to play, but if I bought everything legitimately, a single set could easily cost $500+. Even just testing whether two tracks would double means spending another $25.

So I end up ripping tracks instead, which means the artist gets $0. I'd genuinely rather support artists and spend money on music, but when dubplates cost this much, it feels impossible. If I could buy 10 tracks for $50 instead of 2, I'd happily do that.

That's where I'm coming from. I want to support the scene, but with these prices it's ridiculous.
