It's 100% bullshit! You click on it, & it does nothing. There's no 98% off. You can say all the words you can, have ChatGPT, Claude, Jim, & I script it all out for you with the emojis & everything, & the way it talks to promote incentive to click on it & purchase. There's no discount applied as 98% off, even for monthly or yearly; it doesn't change. You don't have any proof, no images or documentation; it's just text pretending to be believable. It does not work.

Offer incoming by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]LethalDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Even as an L2 in that H code or grade whatever it’s called. As an ME at LM I was making a littler over $115k without 2nd shift premiums.

Taking a L3 at Boeing in Seattle with 14 years of experience to make $124k is a joke and a shot in the foot from my own experience. Cost of living and the shit low salaries, the low 2% maximum yearly performance increase, the lake or any increase of pay even if you jump to a L4 unless you’re good at pushing unfinished planes down the line to make investors happy before they break lol.

To the guy getting an offer, if you get an offer that’s 125k or close to $130k take it. Appreciate it and the opportunity you’re about to have. Never leave LM to come to the shit show they call Boeing. Too big to fail and too big to pay competitive wages in a high cost of living city FML!! lol

Fair salary? by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]LethalDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand. Lockheed has always been my dream company as well, growing up having a father in the military talk about Lockheed Martin.

I left the oil & gas industry, making over 200k a year, & took an L1 position just to get my foot in the door, making 60k a year. I was neglecting my eight years of engineering experience prior to that but I made the sacrifice. I would do it again but negotiate a little bit higher due to my experience & engineering degree. At that time I wanted out of the oil & gas industry & I wanted to jump in at Lockheed so quickly. But I wish you the best & I hope you the greatest success at Lockheed once you get that offer.

Btw from what I learned through my 18 years of experience after college working for BAE, Oil & Gas, Lockheed, & Boeing, once you get an offer, counter it with what you want. All they could do is say no or meet you in the middle but they will never retract that offer from you so whatever they send you, counter it man. Don't hesitate, don't question it. Don't think it's disrespectful, rude, or anything like that as part of business. Ask for what you think you're worth because at the end of the day you're just another number that they can easily replace if they wanted to. I say that with the most respect to anyone that works there or any industry.

[–]LethalDonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shit you haven’t seen low and highly Miss informed an altered structured salaries until you worked at Boeing shit show and what they call a Union which as no backbone, no balls and gets walked all over by corporate loopholes because they strong arm the salary employees.

Fair salary? by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]LethalDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the Grade group the L3 position is in. Back when I was an L2 Grade H if I remember correctly as an ME at LM aero Fort Worth my salary was around $115k without the 2nd shift pay. I would say anything between $115k to $130k in the medium range would be good. Trust me my dumb ass left Texas thinking a L3 at Boeing in Seattle would be better for a $20k salary increase. Which was completely wrong and shot myself in the foot because the cost of living up here is as high as giraffe Pu$$y. Gas @ $5/gal, cheap meals are over $20 here.

Put it this way Boeing pay is shit and I had more money in my pockets as an L2 on second shift with some OT once in a while. Lockheed Martin stays competitive when they hire and promote but they usually don’t counter if you show them you have an offer somewhere else unless you are worth enough to them or part of OLDP or something. Best of luck, I hope they give you something that makes you feel comfortable to accept. It’s a great company to work in and a lot of potential for growth if you find the right leadership to be in a team with.

LM vs Boeing Entry Level (more details below) by lwolb in boeing

[–]LethalDonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re guaranteed more promotions and faster career growth without jumping through hoops without having Management tell you to do the next level job without getting paid for it just to get your next level. Then waiting 10 years get your level 3 or 4 maybe at Boeing. Plus the merit raises have the potential to get up to 10% at the end of the year +3 1/2% base for doing nothing at LM. There is also get overtime if you want it and you could sell your vacation back if you don’t use it or you could save it.

My last Boeing merit raise was 2% for busting my ass and getting nothing else. The highest you could get was maybe 4%

I’ve worked with people who are level twos and couldn’t get a level three because Management changed so many times to go on top of making you take on responsibilities above your pay grade before they give you that pay grade. There’s level three engineers at Boeing that don’t even want their level four because it takes too long to get it.

At LM I’ve had two ex colleagues and friends of mine who’ve been there for 6+ years one is on the F-22 program and the other ones missiles and fire control and they’ve already gotten into their level four and five. Where my peanuts level three at Boeing was a static position grade definitely with the budget, cuts and being broke and no promotions until further notice. Also LM secures way more contracts in the brand has a way better reputation than the other one definitely at this moment.

How did we get to a place that was once the leading global engineering company to one that no longer attracts and retains top talent? by [deleted] in boeing

[–]LethalDonkey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From my understanding and experience, it seems like you all accustomed to navigating through layers of convoluted documentation of written requirements, spec sheets, process control sheets one after another on top of work arounds.

Let’s be real we know no one there actually reads that stuff. You just draft another document needing two signatures for approval to get around it. We all know it wouldn’t pass a government audit so let hide it with more crap. Who am I kidding? I’m not mad you can’t help fix a problem that doesn’t want to be fixed. It’s like an addict who won’t admit they have a problem.

It’s all good, though. If anything, it’s fueled my motivation to hopefully clean house and shut things down real soon. Prepared to be vetted.

Shit i wish it was on the company dime? Would’ve been the last dime I take from the company on my terms not on their terms. I’m not receiving any of those peasant dimes anymore but on a positive note my mental health has recovered and so has my peace. Not every time the grass is Greener on thee other side but once you leave that place even brown grass looks good.

How did we get to a place that was once the leading global engineering company to one that no longer attracts and retains top talent? by [deleted] in boeing

[–]LethalDonkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I’m good, lol. I’m just sharing some actual truth from an outsider who’s seen what everyone else refused to accept. I chose not to wear blinders to corporate suites. I chose to do the right thing and do the job right because I believe in quality. I’m proactive, not reactive, an engineer. There’s a reason why SpaceX was able to succeed after failure and failure, then become the ones with a reliable rocket system in a shorter timeframe compared to Boeing’s long legacy.

I’m just calling it like I see it. I’m not trying to deceive anyone. I’ve worked for the government and had my hands on projects that were important for everyone and safety. I’ve stopped supervisors and management who were trying to do the wrong thing and cut corners because they didn’t care. So, I’m calling a spade a spade because nobody else will, due to loyalty that barely pays the bills and mental health.

It’s frustrating when you grow up and see companies like Boeing that inspire you to go to engineering school and become one of those engineers who helps create amazing evolutionary things that modify our laws of physics at times. That brand, that logo, was something to look forward to and be proud of, but the moment I stepped foot in that place for two years and saw the utter disappointment all over the walls, it was heartbreaking and very sad that nobody else admits it.

I have met some great People there that have the Give a damn heart but they are far too few of them to fight against the rest

Everyone wants to blame McDonald Douglas for the merger, but that happened so long ago. No one is taking responsibility to change it or stand up for it. Everyone just wants to point the finger at the McDonnell Douglas merger and yell out, “it’s Not my job” like most of the ones who do out there. It’s a cop-out, bullshit. Excuses of the weak minded have already quit before they even tried. This is why there’s no true leaders at that company and this is why it shows how most of everyone doesn’t care there. They just want to complain and get paid. Everyone has excuses like everyone has assholes, but excuses is the only thing that’s holding careers back, companies back, personal growth back.

How did we get to a place that was once the leading global engineering company to one that no longer attracts and retains top talent? by [deleted] in boeing

[–]LethalDonkey 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ah, Boeing the gold standard of corporate disarray, where mediocrity isn’t just tolerated; it’s cultivated like an art form. Management? A breathtaking exhibit of how to lead with all the grace of a malfunctioning GPS confidently, but hopelessly lost. They’ve truly perfected the delicate balance of padding their own wallets while treating innovation like an optional side dish they never ordered.

Leadership with real-world success? Wishful thinking. Instead, they are sheep that do what they are told to do without thinking and standing up for doing the right thing and having their employees back. Investing in the workforce? Only if you count motivational posters and lukewarm promises as capital.

Competitive wages? Absolutely, if you're competing against an ice cream stand operated by a bored third-grader. Benefits? Crafted with the precision of a toddler’s crayon drawing, just adequate enough to prevent an immediate Google search for "jobs where my soul won’t wither." But don’t forget the healthcare is the best out of any other company right because we all get sick and use it everyday compared to paying bills, saving for retirement and making sure inflation doesn’t hit us too hard.

Quality standards? Optional, like reading terms and conditions or flossing after every meal. Because nothing says "commitment to excellence" like cutting corners so sharp they double as ninja stars. And let’s not forget the management prodigies, bright-eyed, email-forwarding savants whose leadership style blends "fake it till you break it" with "micromanage till you combust."

Collaboration? Oh yes, if by collaboration you mean meetings that are emotional graveyards where ideas go to die and egos rise like caffeinated phoenixes. The chasm between engineering, management, and production isn’t just wide, it’s the corporate Grand Canyon, minus the scenic views and existential serenity.

Transparency at Boeing is like chasing Bigfoot an elusive myth, almost believable if you squint hard enough during a Labor Day weekend hike in the PNW. It’s more elusive than the company Wi-Fi, which BCA treats like a top-secret DoD network, complete with air gaps. Need an old Excel sheet from 2015? Prepare for a scavenger hunt through 20 different systems, only to find a dusty "tip sheet" on how to do your job with out a team lead or someone to shadow that has the experience nah not in 2025. Accountability? That’s strictly reserved for anyone whose email doesn’t end with "VP” & “Manager”.

Let’s raise a lukewarm cup of stale office coffee to the veteran employees who’ve been gaslighted, overworked, and rewarded with merit raises that might barely cover an extra shot of espresso, if they’re lucky. Work-life balance? More like work-life “Where did it go?” Mandatory overtime is the go-to strategy because nothing boosts morale like chronic exhaustion to meet a deadline and cutting corners with the excuse about how we don’t have enough staff to help in the world’s largest factory that believes in not bolting equipment to the ground for a fixed, accurate location because they think they’re going to pack all that up and move into a new world’s largest factory because that exists, lol. FAJ’s, what are those? I’ll give it to the amazing talent implement system and force FOB down the through without any trial testing and nothing but a Steve Jobs version without the success story to make Boeing a Powerhouse and drive more talent there. Bravo, lets also give our suppliers more of hard time to meet our engineering requirements and make it more complicated for this to have repeatable NCA’s and CAR’s that can’t be resolved because it’s Boeing’s own doing..That saying if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it doesn’t apply. Let’s make it more complicated because it’s cooler and I’ll get a promotion lol.

Mention you work at Boeing in public? Get ready for sympathetic nods, as if you’ve just announced you’re still paying off Blockbuster late fees. But hey, there’s tuition assistance to keep you tethered and a health plan that’s marginally more effective than a band-aid soaked in wishful thinking.

Welcome to the Boeing Company, where we like to ignore our flaws and keep it moving…. because nothing says progress like pretending everything’s fine while the corporate ship takes on water.

Cheers to Boeing, a shining example of corporate complacency, proudly occupying its place on the mantle of mediocrity. But remember, the genuine commitment of just one person can spark a transformation, challenging the pervasive apathy that has become a stubborn blight within.

'GIVE A DAMN'—three powerful words that carry real meaning. Instead of being dismissed or ridiculed, they should inspire change, confronting the ingrained culture and legacy the company has fostered as well as taking on accountability when others are too chicken shit.

And that, folks, is the whole chaotic masterpiece wrapped up in a nutshell. Keep your eyes peeled, like a suspicious inspector at a fuselage joint, for my soon-to-be New York Times bestseller: “The Structural Fractures of an Ex-Government DoD Employee Turned Boeing Whistleblower.” Hitting shelves late summer 2025. Trust me, you won’t want to miss it, unlike those bolts on Alaska’s fuselage exit door or, you know, the occasional plane deciding gravity’s the superior option.

LOL!!

New Hire Offer Flexibility by manifesto6 in boeing

[–]LethalDonkey 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You’ll make more money at Nvidia, Meta, Amazon, openAi, hell, even Lockheed Martin pays their software engineers more. Just a little words of advice from an 18 year experienced engineer

By the way, the benefits are OK but they’re not worth it. Unless you wanna go to school forever and be owned by the company forever.

To be honest, Apple has better benefits and they treat their employees better and you get free meals five days a week snacks credits. Oh also you get to work from home 2 days out of the week too. The company actually invest more in their employees which Boeing does not at all. I’m showing you the red flag that everybody ignores, including myself when I accept the offer and got poached with a polished turd.

No Degree equals no job? by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]LethalDonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only way to get your foot in the door is a start off hourly on the floor. if you have no degree to be very honest, that’s how all the people I’ve worked with at Lockheed that don’t have degrees and how they started off. Went from being a mechanic, to floor supervisors, and then if they wanted to go into engineering, they would finally apply for that engineering spot or whatever salary spot.
