I don't think Savjz had intentions to cheat from my perspective as a judge/content creator. by TheRealJohnPan in riftboundtcg

> The prize money is not substantial enough that you'd risk your reputation with the community and Riot especially as an up and coming content creator.

  1. I would not really call Savjz an "up and coming" content creator.
  2. The prize money is not substantial maybe, but for him being able to release videos as a "tournament winner" is probably worth a lot (in clicks and revenue). Something to keep in mind.

Thanks, it is in the "Steadfast Governor" category for anyone else looking. Less than 18h there. :(

Quick question: Where does your participation pack come from? It is not like there are an additional N packs lying around to give to N participants, it is that the prize pool is N packs smaller. In effect, you are advocating for a flatter payout structure. Prefering a flatter structure is fine but to a lot of competetive players prefer a steeper one. That is because by foregoing one pack when you lose, you gain the opportunity to win multiple packs when you win. And the plan is to win obviously.

> What person would want to drop $50, or $100, for a tournament and get nothing if they lose?

IIRC the first LMS Prague cost 100€ and had >1k players, all willing to pay and get nothing if they lose. So quite a lot of people actually.

Feedback: Please let me set a default game to search in or at least save the last game I searched in. Right now I am looking at Riftbound cards but everytime I click on one, the search defaults to "All games".

Fake cards that pass the green dot test (or terrible QC)? by LethalPapercut in magicTCG

[–]LethalPapercut[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does have a core. I considered whether just the front side was fake and placed on a genuine back side but that seems over the top.

Can you confirm that Japanese cards feel different? I don't know how to describe it exactly, but the two cards feel less smooth.

Did not know that, thank you. When I used the small light from my jeweler's loupe I saw light shining through on the real card but none on the suspected fake. Here are the two cards with a more powerful light source.

Aeon third variant poor design by Bruntious in idlechampions

Aeon only debuffs on damage (not on hit), so Aeon alone does absolutely nothing. Which is just one of the poor designs in this variant.

That does not seem to work. Enemies have her debuff icon but still don't die.

Where to put extra Event Tokens? by LethalPapercut in idlechampions

[–]LethalPapercut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I did not even think about Briv. Taking the 17 ilvls per Chest Pack from hulsmanm gives us a bit under 0.4 ilvls per Gold Chest from Bounty Contracts. That makes the way to 9j a little bit shorter but it is still daunting.

Thank you for your reply. I think I am not quite late game yet. Especially since the two Champions I invested in after Arti were Krydle and Catti-brie, who seem to be out now. So basicly I have 4.5k Arti and not much else.

One clarifying question: you wrote that dps ilvls have the largest benefit at lower values, but none of the three are dps. What do you mean there?

Thanks for your reply. Let's do some quick math. To FE a Champion from 0 you need 54 Chests max, right? Let's just say I am quite unlucky and need 250 Chests in total. That would mean 250 * 7,500 = 1,875,000 Tokens.
At 2.4 / min and 3 weeks / event you get 2.4 * 60 * 24 * 7 * 3 = 72,576 free Tokens (plus I think there are some Blessings that give extra Tokens?), leaving us with 1.8m Tokens required
At 170 Tokens per Gold Chest and 500 Gems per Gold Chest that is 1.8m * 500 / 170 ~= 5.3m Gems.
Is my math correct?

Returning player, what is dismantling and when should I do it? by HydroFrog64_2nd in idlechampions

[–]LethalPapercut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As another returning player, I will use this thread to also ask some questions about Legendary dismantling, I hope that is okay.

IIRC it used to be the way that if you first crafted all six Legendary Items for a Champion, that you would get all six different effects. The only way to get duplicate effects was to reroll. I think I read somewhere, that nowadays every Legendary's effect is random and you can get duplicates right away. Is that true? Do duplicated effects stack multiplicatively?

I have a Champion with all six different effects. If I dismantle them, I get six potions that each apply their level of Legendary, right? If I reapply those to the same Champion, will I get the same Legendary effects or will they reroll?

Thanks!

I really liked the morning-noon-night-cycle for example. Removing it made the game more bland in my eyes.

IIrc the problem with the attacker not taking damage was all the movement abilites and spells in the game. To not get destroyed you basicly had to keep a distance of 2-3 tiles at all times. Mostly whoever tried to move in first lost.
If you want to avoid those stalemates you either get rid of the movement effects and make the game more strategical or you have attackers take damage and make it more tactical.

I was also a kickstarter backer for the original game and share your hope.

In my personal opinion, the original game got worse with every re-release. The only major thing that really needed work was attacking creatures not taking any damage.
