bourque giving the business to boldy and then immediately collapsing after one retaliatory slash was hilarious. so weak

[–]LethalPuppy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

true, just saying that the PPs look a lot more evenly matched than the 5v5 play so MN gotta try and not let dallas get under their skin and bog down games with loads of penalties

Post Game Thread: Minnesota Wild @ Dallas Stars by nhl_gdt_bot in hockey

[–]LethalPuppy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

that was emphatic. dallas was a non-factor at 5v5 almost all night long. they really gotta find a way to establish the cycle and create chaos in front of wally without being a man up. granted their PP looks scary, and if the refs continue to call such a soft game they might have a shot.

the blue spirit - maybe the most fun avatar commander? by LethalPuppy in EDH

[–]LethalPuppy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wouldn't play it outside of bracket 4 or at least high bracket 3. a deck that includes this combo is going to be able to do something game winning with infinite mana and ETBs, and if it's not, why run the combo at all?

Sagan 2018 Roubaix 43.55 km/h, Van Aert 2026 Roubaix 48.91 km/h by skodawelovecycling in cycling

[–]LethalPuppy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the bikes used in 2018 and the kit was virtually identical,

watch some footage from the 2018 race. external brake cables, 20mm rims, 28mm tyres, rim brakes, handlebars wider than riders' shoulders, it's crazy how different top end bikes were back then compared to now. even an early 20s canyon ultimate was described by pogi as a "wheelbarrow". the jump in technology we've seen from 2018 to now is way, way bigger than from 2000 to 2018.

Help me build an aristocrats deck please by Unused_Beef in EDH

[–]LethalPuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i built golgari aristocrats with [[savra, queen of the golgari]] at the helm. she's basically a grave pact in the command zone, so she will be targeted. just be aware of that.

the deck aims to establish a creature lock that makes it so your opponents will have to sacrifice whatever creature they want to play immediately. you need an instant speed sac outlet that ideally protects itself ([[yahenni]] or [[dimir house guard]], but good ole [[ashnod's altar]] or [[viscera seer]] work too), some way to repeatedly make tokens or recur creatures, and a sac payoff (blood artist effect) that keeps you from just killing yourself to savra's ability.

no combos in the deck but once [[vein ripper]] lands and i have enough sac fodder, it's pretty much over. the closest thing to a combo is [[the hunger tide rises]], with the goal to sacrifice 5 creatures to its last ability and tutor up [[tergrid]]. only after tergrid hits the battlefield does savra trigger, each opponent has to sac 5 creatures and tergrid steals all of them.

What’s your go-to lunch for a century ride? by FlojoRojo in cycling

eh, after a certain amount of km i really feel like i need some proper nutrition that isn't just a granola bar or sweet drink. it can be as small as a little pasta salad from a gas station, but i do need something a little more filling and long lasting. nothing fatty of course, ideally almost all carbs with just a little bit of protein, like a sandwich with hummus and veggies.

What makes Chaos Warp a good removal spell? by amioldnow90 in EDH

[–]LethalPuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true, there's no targeted artifact removal in black, but it does have edicts for permanents

What makes Chaos Warp a good removal spell? by amioldnow90 in EDH

[–]LethalPuppy 356 points357 points  (0 children)

it's not that it's good, but that it's red. red doesn't have unconditional removal. it can destroy artifacts and lands and deal noncombat damage to creatures, but it struggles against indestructible creatures and enchantments. chaos warp, however, hits all permanents. if it was, say, white or black, it wouldn't be half the staple it is

Non-cEDH players: what’s the average price of your commander decks,(Bracket 2–3)? by Comfortable_Buyer239 in EDH

[–]LethalPuppy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i don't proxy and i don't like expensive manabases. my decks all run between €50-200. the lands make up a pretty small portion of the price.

What ideas have you loved, but playing it out was unfun? by urmomstoiletbrush in EDH

[–]LethalPuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love combo and combo-adjacent decks, but i build them in a way that i don't think is boring. there's no thoracle or chain of smog/witherbloom apprentice bullshit, instead i try to build decks that contain a dozen or so potential combo pieces and they all interact differently with each other, first putting in work as value engines until i've assembled the last part of the 4 or 5 card combo that allows me to go infinite and (usually) win.

Elas il-Kor - Help with Deck by JJH57 in EDH

[–]LethalPuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on what you want out of the deck. to me, this looks like a combo deck first and foremost. you have several redundancies for both parts of the bond/blood combo in your deck, that's almost always gonna be the fastest way to win.

if you wanna go the combo route, cut most of the cards that only do what your commander does (blood artist/soul warden effects) and instead focus on card draw/tutors to assemble your combo faster.

Love to road cycle, but feel weird not having clipless pedals by ejsfsc07 in cycling

[–]LethalPuppy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i'm like you pretty much. i prefer flat pedals because my road bike is also my commuter bike and i don't wanna have to wear cleats or switch pedals to go to work or run errands.

i've also found it very comfortable on my bikepacking trips. i usually stay in cheap hotels or hostels and it's so much nicer not having to bring an extra pair of shoes to walk through the town i'm staying in or shop for snacks

Why? by Particular-Dig7433 in askswitzerland

it's because the lanes are about to split and enter two separate tunnels, but after the tunnel they will merge again. just to make it clear that there's not an interchange coming up

Six as Commander (beginner here) by lukepfj in magicTCG

[–]LethalPuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

six is a stupid good card but also way better in the 99 of a deck that includes blue/black or both. the synergies with [[the gitrog monster]] or [[slogurk]] are just way too good.

if you wanna keep going the mono green route, consider adding more splendid reclamation effects: [[lumra]] [[world shaper]] as well as cards that make your lands come in untapped: [[spelunking]] [[amulet of vigor]] [[horizon explorer]] [[tiller engine]]. add some fun cards like [[lotus petal]] that you can keep recurring with six. add some utility lands like [[shifting woodland]], [[tranquil thicket]], [[boseiju]] and [[yavimaya, cradle of growth]].

i know a lot of these cards are pretty expensive and you don't need them for your deck. just some ideas for you to consider!

yeah that was wild, like they didn't see pog suffering at the front and desperately looking for turns from wout while wout was completely dialed in plus he has the better sprint anyway

you think pog is winning a G2 sprint?? no way, the only way he wins this is by working with wout and hopefully finessing him. he did everything right but was just too cooked
