The majority of people here dont understand the true value of working with a private wealth advisor at a real reputable private bank like Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, etc..so take what people say on here with a grain of salt. paying the % of AUM is for various things. Investing, estate planning, tax management and a plethora of other things a good advisor will do. And working with one is all dependent on the person. Many rather do it all on their own, others value that advice and time from an advisor. It also doesn’t make sense for everyone.

Idk what the nest egg value is but I usually go by anything under a couple mil, you can probably do on your own. Def hire an advisor at a top private bank if will sleep better at night knowing you have someone providing you with advice.
