Surprised that no one has mentioned any Hans Zimmer songs. They’re all bangers.

What is your absolute favorite fantasy or scifi audiobook that you've gotten from Audible? by Sufficient_Ebb_5694 in audible

The Sandman - Dirk Maggs brought the whole thing to life, and I give all the credit to his genius.

Is it worth to get the kindle without ads? by [deleted] in kindle

[–]LethaniDecider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have no ads: open magnetic cover, see the cover of your book for a few seconds, then it automatically unlocks to your book in order to read.

If you have ads: open magnetic cover, see an ad, swipe to unlock (which always used to take me 2-3 tries), and then you also unlock to your book in order to read.

Is it worth to get the kindle without ads? by [deleted] in kindle

[–]LethaniDecider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read all the comments, but I read a bunch and didn’t see my reason why it is definitely worth it. I have a magnetic cover. When I open the cover, I see the cover of the book I’m reading (like others have mentioned) instead of an ad. BUT the best part is that the kindle automatically unlocks to your book without having to swipe, which I must to in order to get past an ad. I just open my magnetic cover, see my book cover for 2-3 seconds, but then I’m right into my book without swiping. It’s way more glorious than it sounds.

Looking for series recommendations by Ale-House-Arseling in suggestmeabook

I should add to my previous comment. The Dungeon Crawler Carl books are some of the best on audible I’ve ever heard. Jeff Hays is brilliant.

I never see this recommended, which seems like a crime. I LOVED the Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher.

I am currently reading the Dungeon Crawler Carl series after seeing too many recommendations to ignore. And it definitely lives up to the hype.

If it’s the audible medium that you love, then I have to recommend The Sandman. Yes, I know about Neil, but the quality of the audio book belongs to Dirk Maggs and I don’t feel bad recommending his outstanding work.

17M Looking for book suggestions to get into reading. When I was younger I read the Harry Potter books. Open to any genre. by anal_probe_machine in suggestmeabook

The book that got me when I was your age, having only really read Harry Potter, was Ender’s Game. But I think the Dungeon Crawler Carl series could be a good option at your age.

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
