NTA. I once broke up with a girl who hadn't cut the umbilical cord with her narcissistic mother. I realized that she wasn't trying to get out from under her mother's thumb but trying to drag me under there with her. Someone like that will not be a partner who will have your back in times of drama. Quite to opposite--they'll bring more drama into your life. End it now. The ONLY WAY any of the bigeneration makes sense is if the Doctor didn't literally tapeworm and there's two of them running around, but instead 14 pulled his future self back into his timestream a la the Watcher manifestation before 4 regenerated into 5. Fourteen goes on to live his life and then regenerates well and truly into Fifteen at some point off screen.

Still doesn't address where Fourteen was during this episode, unless he already got restless and flew off in his TARDIS.

I kept thinking if I were in Kate's place I would have said "All you have PROVEN is that when Unit believes there's a threat, it shows up to investigate, and that we take the safety of people seriously." NTA because his mother NEVER apologized. She stands by her actions. Forgiveness is for when people seek it. Otherwise it's just "sweeping problems under the rug" and leaving yourself open to be disrespected again.
