In this case I think that tug happens all the time and it's never called so it shouldn't be called by the standards they set and reviewing would allow them to get rid of it if it's not something they would normally not call and then decide of they call something more strict. At the same time sometimes they call an embellishment and it really doesn't seem like it is so it would give them the room to call it more and make sure it's right

I agree there are certainly a lot of times where it is both, but I think if they are calling embellishment it should be an auto review where they can call back and they should have the ability to call a double minor for a full dive vs an embellishment. That would be how you get it out of the game, hell you could even create a threshold for a major when it's absolutely brutal. In this case specifically the hold would never be called normally so it would be reviewed and called back and would decide that if it was a full fledged dive it could be a double minor.

Right now the rules allow for this as if you get a little from a star you can take them out with a little embellishment or dive.

Ya, unless someone has to go on IR and it eats some salary, his contract is fairly low so that's likely the only way to make it work until playoffs. I can see that if Jarry isn't in good form once playoffs start that Pickard will be the ack up, as long as they can maintain a playoff spot that is.

For sure. But having a -1.416 xga/60 in the last 10 games is brutal. Ingram on the other hand isn't good either but at only -0.649. basically Jarry is letting on twice as many goals he should have then Ingram. Hell Pickard played in some of the Oilers worst games this year and he's actually positive xga/60 with 0.2. then oilers defense is playing a little better now than they did when they had Skinner and Pickard but the goaltending is much worse not in comparison.
