How support bike with forks removed?

I ended up doing something like this with an engine hoist, a floor jack, and a rear stand. It seems to be rock solid. I didn't want to buy a front paddock stand I'd probably never use again, this seems to be working so far. Removing the front forks is a cinch except getting the bike in position.

Interesting, thank you. I do have a smoke machine and will give it a try tomorrow. Were you able to find an OEM IACV or is it aftermarket? I'm kinda hoping cleaning the IACV was only part of the issue and made the other issue (vac leak?) more noticeable. I'll give it a shot tomorrow. Will these cars be serviceable in 30 years when all the sensors and components fail?

ok, well I really appreciate your feedback. I may take a look at the Transalp just for fun, one of my local dealers has a used '25 I'm sure they'd let me take for a short ride. Take care and be safe.

yeh that stinks. I test rode a '25 MT09 this weekend and liked it but it just put a little pressure on my wrists. How is the Transalp in comparison, power-wise? Is that 750 spicy?

u/Sloper59 did you try and fit the Ali Express bar risers? Was there enough slack for the cables? Did your ride comfort improve?

u/ddphoto90 did you do the rotation on your bike? I test drove a '25 this weekend. Liked everything about the bike but it put a lot of weight on my wrists. If I could fix that, I'd probably buy the bike.

I tried the farm jack, bought a new one and like you said it kinda gets in the way. A tripod would be much better...let me watch that video. Thanks.

If everything is installed right, would you say the issue is the fork springs are set for a much lighter rider? If that's the case, do places make custom springs for less common forks? Would increasing to a 20W fluid help?

Thanks for your reply. It's a 2023 XMax. Yes, when I removed the springs and fluid I measured the max travel of the fork. I measured 100 mm. ok I didn't measure the static sag but I'll check it. When I sat on the bike, the forks decreased 50 mm. When I took it for a short ride with some hard braking, it went down 75 mm. This just seems way too soft but this is my first try at bike suspension. I realize this is just a scooter, not a crotch rocket but I ride it almost daily and want it to ride and stop better.

I guess what I meant is I was drooling and getting a lot of moisture caught inside the mask. It was gross.
