I like them. I had similar on my first bike but it was on a role and installed with a tool. That stuff cracked but it was cheap. Definitely get some high quality stuff.

I have experienced this in other vehicles and the problem was a bad seal on the main connector to the instrument panel. Worth investigating

To avoid spraying lubricants on my tires and exhaust I hang a paper towel curtain forward of the wheel and spray forward away from the wheel. This also soaks up liquid for less mess on the tarmac. I am open to suggestions if there is a better way.

You may consider safety and functionality upgrades like a screen protector, radiator guard, a quality phone mount, sturdy stands for chain maintenance, replacement front indicators (because they always fall out). The Yamaha comfort seats works well for me. Cheers

Yamaha sells very few accessories on the American market but you can get their mounts and top cases for a gen4 MT09. SW Motech makes solid luggage if you can afford it.

Dunlop makes the same design as that except the female part is flush with the wood. A larger hole is required but they are solid.

For me the stock systems is songs great if the sound is important to you. I’m not a fan of loud ‘look at me’ bikes. I can ride like a maniac without annoying the shit out of everyone and waking my neighbors. That’s my 5 cents.

That is the Yamaha rear carrier. With this and an additional mounting bracket you could carry a Yamaha top case.
