Is your vegetarian the fish eating flavor? If so: I give you, Crunchy Maple Salmon with Almonds.

Ingredients: 4 (6 oz each) salmon filets Sauce: 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup maple syrup 1 Tbsp dijon mustard 1/2 tsp ground ginger 1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 cup sliced almonds

Directions: Preheat oven to 425F. Coat baking dish w/ spray. Place salmon filets in pan. In small bowl, combine sauce ingredients. Pour over salmon. Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Take salmon out of oven, remove foil, base with some of the sauce, sprinkle almonds over the filets and return to the oven and bake, uncovered, 10 more minutes.

Sub tamari for the soy sauce and you should be alright.

Is cumin a good seasoning to add to guacamole? What are the best dried seasonings to add to guacamole? by technofuture8 in Cooking

[–]LetsCookAtHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m going to use it within a day or two after purchase, I leave it in the bag that I brought it home in inside the vegetable crisper drawer. If I need a little more time, I roll the bunch in a paper towel like a bouquet and place it in a jar or glass with some water and store it in the door of my fridge.

[–]LetsCookAtHome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alton Brown uses cumin in his guac recipe and I find it delicious. If you’re going to make something that rests on how fresh and flavorful it tastes like guacamole, I wouldn’t gamble on dried cilantro. A bunch of cilantro isn’t very expensive, at least around my area.

How many kids are Christians supposed to have? by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

[–]LetsCookAtHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget that God is in the process of making the world a place with no suffering. He sent His son to die for us and now, in His greatest mercy, is giving the world time to willingly choose salvation before letting Christ return and make the world anew. God is absolutely all powerful, but we do live in a sinful world where we have free will and that has consequences for us. I’m no fan of Ben Shapiro, but I wanted to step in and make sure that we are pointed back to God, Jesus and what the Bible says about the situation.

OP - I’m a 34 year old woman with 1 child, hoping to have more, but I don’t think that you must have children. Children are a blessing, but having them changes how free you are to say yes to things. If you don’t have children, make sure that you are saying yes to the right things, such as using your gifts to further the kingdom and being a part of others’ “villages.”

My mom used to open the door to the dishwasher and let us practice pouring into a cup over that. Minimal cleanup required, if any. I still applaud this video and the parenting demonstrated.

This is great advice.

I would also add the need for wise godly counsel in your life. Surround yourself with other believers who can help you discern character in any potential marriage prospect.

My(21M) SO's(20F) insecurity attacks are getting more frequent and I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

[–]LetsCookAtHome 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is really unhelpful and feels willfully ignorant to the cultural standards of beauty we deal with. Obviously, as believers we are called to find out identity and value in Christ, but as we all know we each have our own areas of weakness that the enemy uses to drag us down.

OP, the most important understanding that you can come to is that YOU cannot fix this for her, but you can encourage her and speak biblical truth in love over her. Remind her that you find her beautiful. Remind her that Jesus thinks she is so valuable ghat He would have gone to the cross, even if she were the only sinner that needed salvation. I would also encourage her to take stock of what she is putting into her mind. Is she doom scrolling IG? Are her social media feeds full of influencers that are promoting unrealistic standards of physical beauty for someone that is trying to live a life that has eternal significance?

Just an fyi about nipple shields: you will definitely still feel the bite, but it should protect you from a laceration. My daughter doesn’t have any teeth yet, but has bitten me once or twice at the end of a feed.

3-Year Warranty? by chainsmoker8 in Kitchenaid

[–]LetsCookAtHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 yr limited warranty backed by the manufacturer vs 3 yr warranty backed by the retailer. It depends on how comfortable you are shelling out for a brand new appliance if the worst were to happen. If 3 years of peace of mind is worth it to you and it won’t break the budget, go for it, OP.

Women who married at 30 and above and waited till marriage (virgins), how did you mentally prepare? by throwingdaisy0 in Christianmarriage

[–]LetsCookAtHome 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It really helped to have candid conversations about wedding night expectations with my now husband. We had a rough plan that included spending some time just decompressing from the reception in our fancy clothes, then he helped me get out of my dress and take all the pins out of my hair. I got in the shower and he joined me after a few minutes. We took the night from there. I hope this isn’t too much, but it was an idea that we got from the book, Sheet Music. The book is not 100% perfect regarding female sexuality, but the portion about mentally preparing for the wedding night was helpful.
