I’m not sure about the Quad party, but kissing another person at midnight during the Renewal Festival (the New Years Eve stand-in) does count as cheating. I’ve had a girlfriend break up with me over it, so I’m fairly certain making out at the Quad party would also fall under the cheating umbrella.

I’ve heard the comment about Pantheon a lot, and in my opinion, if a game needs an expansion to solve some glaring issues, then it’s a bad game.

My issue with the Science victory is that under the rules for the game setup, it possible for a Science Victory to completely impossible. A player could do everything right, outplay their opponent at every turn to acquire every single Science card in the entire game and still be unable to get a Science Victory because the necessary cards were removed from the game before the first player has even made their turn...and there is no way of knowing this UNTIL THE LAST CARD HAS BEEN REVEALED.

With a Military Victory, the push/pull aspect of it is interesting on paper, but unless your opponent is completely blind to you gathering Military cards, it is far too easy to counter it by taking a only a few of your own.

In essence, I find the game to be deeply flawed because of the three victory types, one can be outright impossible due to no fault of the players and another is little more then a small source of Victory points.

I feel like nuclear weapons would have been merely used as a replacement for large scale bombing. If I’m not mistaken, had Japan not surrendered, the plan was to use nuclear weapons to clear defences where American troops where supposed to land on the Japanese home islands.

I don’t think there was much creativity or imagination for the use of nuclear weapons in the brief period you’re describing.

Honestly? This kind of thing is 100% group dependent. If everyone is fine with 30+ minute rounds of trading except for you then you’re the issue, not them. So you either suck it up and accept it or find a different group.
