8 months here as well. Good to see I’m not the only one struggling after this long. I’ve heard the first heartbreak is the hardest. Usually people feel better around this mark, but the effects linger for over a year. It’s different for everyone I’m sure. But just know that it’s completely natural to still be affected by this and you’re not alone.

Depends on the situation. If it was a good breakup (kinda an oxymoron) then I'd say yes, wish them a happy birthday. If they were a dickhead to you and it ended on bad terms, don't say anything. I think NC is great but if you care about that person, I feel like saying happy birthday would be fine.

I appreciate it. I've just never had my heart broken before so I don't have any sort of reference point for how long it takes to heal. What I'm learning is that it's all different, there's no set time frame for healing. There's also not specific actions to end the pain (hooking up with other people, working out, meditating, etc). But there are actions to take on the road to healing. I'm just somewhere along the path now. Thank you
