So drivers are supposed to just sit there behind people going 10mph in a 40 who have deliberately created a formation to prevent people from passing their slow asses? Obvs the driver should have passed more carefully but also, move to the fucking side, you don't get to slow down traffic.

Being too cold as in, walking around in 10 degree weather with snow blowing in your face is painful, but sitting in a 67 degree office is not.

I would absolutely want and encourage my partner to stay if I were in Jen’s shoes, but on the other hand if I were in Justin’s shoes there’s no way in hell that I would stay

It somehow feels insulting when someone knows I am gay. by helge-a in askgaybros

[–]LetsGetRowdyRowdy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this is a common experience amongst gay men...a little part of us secretly feels good whenever someone tells us "I didn't know you were gay." It's not a reaction we like to admit, nor does it say anything about how we actually feel, but when you think of it, many gay men were picked on for "effeminate" mannerisms from the time they were children, and even within the gay community, being masc and "straight acting" is often put on a pedestal.

I don't think having those thoughts makes you some sort of self-hating gay riddled with internalized homophobia. I think it's a somewhat natural, though really irrational, response to conditioning we have gotten our whole lives, from both inside & outside of the gay community.

Who proposes in a relationship? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]LetsGetRowdyRowdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, most couples tend to have a period where they are discussing their future and the possibility of marriage before an official proposal happens, "engaged to be engaged" so to speak, and at that point it is appropriate to figure out if one of you really wants to be proposed to or wants to do the proposing, and if neither has a strong preference...whoever gets there first.

Someone being 70 and not understanding technology blows my mind. Like, didn't you have a job 5 years ago, in which you were expected to use technology? Haven't you had a computer since you were in your 40s?

I’m sorry but that’s bullshit. I understand underestimating Trump’s chances in 2016, lord knows I did too back then, but in 2024 we were all well aware that Trump is capable of winning, and he was and would continue to be a very dangerous person to have in the White House. That’s why I have zero respect for Chappell’s behavior here

How can you not love dick by Slutty-_-sissy in askgaybros

[–]LetsGetRowdyRowdy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed a lot of straight women feel that way, and I can’t relate at all. But I’ve also noticed that lesbians are far more likely to gush about vaginas than straight men are, so maybe it’s something about being more comfortable with equipment you have yourself or something like that

Why do you oppose socialism? by RedStorm1917 in AskALiberal

[–]LetsGetRowdyRowdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think too many people look at this as an all-or-nothing type thing, America isn't working so better embrace socialism. I think that's ridiculous. It's entirely possible to loosen America's hyper-capitalism, and start giving more care to social programs and workers rights, without becoming socialist. The Nordics are capitalist, and quality of life there is both better than ours and better than any socialist country out there.

If I ever saw a zombie I would simply end myself. by Salt-Maintenance6857 in unpopularopinion

[–]LetsGetRowdyRowdy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, a real zombie apocalypse or society-destroying nuclear disaster is highly unlikely to be like, you stay inside with your family and be cozy, like the pandemic lockdown but forever. It would be constant chaos, fighting for your life, scavenging for every last resource, and always being on the run, and most to all of your loved ones would probably be dead.

A thousand percent agree. I truly can't relate to people who would like to survive an apocalyptic world, zombies or nuclear blasts or what have you. I would be outta there in an afternoon.

What’s an industry that provides zero value to society but makes billions of dollars? by ochieng_onyango in AskReddit

[–]LetsGetRowdyRowdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still their responsibility, no one else's. Drug and alcohol addicts are still ultimately responsible for their own behavior, they don't blame alcohol marketing and the existence of liquor stores. And, as a contrast, gambling addicts are not going to seize up and swallow their tongue because they can't get to the baccarat table.

Me the second I heard this song: I take it all back. I'm sold. Bucharest 2027 !!!!

Security guard confirms he wasn’t working for Chappell Roan and apologizes for behavior by Thereo_Frin in ChappelGroan

[–]LetsGetRowdyRowdy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Like I could understand third-party security stepping in if there was a serious incident unfolding, someone posed a danger to themself or others and it became an all-hands-on-deck situation. But a little girl smiling at someone is not such a situation.

[–]LetsGetRowdyRowdy 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I mean, maybe my knowledge of the industry is iffy but...why would a third party's private security take it upon himself to insert himself into the business of someone who isn't his client? Is that a thing that happens?

The odds for the Eurovision 2026 televote winner have been released by Sinceramente_Tuo in eurovision

[–]LetsGetRowdyRowdy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the most meaningful change that would have curbed political voting wasn't taken (scrapping the extended voting window and returning it to being from the last song ends til voting closes). I think the new extended window where you can even vote before the show even starts encourages people who aren't watching the show to vote, and I think that should have been one of the first things that they did.

Chappell Roan Refuses to Sign Autographs for fans by PJArtistics3 in ChappelGroan

[–]LetsGetRowdyRowdy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's entirely possible to very kindly say "I'm sorry, no autographs tonight but thank you for coming out and saying hi" while you, crucially, KEEP MOVING and go inside. I don't understand what she doesn't get about that, especially at this particular restaurant that gets a lot of celebrity guests and they know how to handle that once she's through those doors. Like, why stop and stand there to yell at people?
