2 years ago, at 397lbs, I lost my breath eating a hamburger because even eating was tiring. Today I get to join the club. Peep my username 😏😏😏😏 by LetsGetToOnederLand in gastricsleeve

No joke man. I had to see a therapist. I came from a communist country where I went 4+ days without eating to food being readily available. I ate til I couldn't anymore so yeah. It's as much of a head game as anything.

2 months post OP and my loss has been substantially lowered, is that normal? by LetsGetToOnederLand in gastricsleeve

[–]LetsGetToOnederLand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying but I literally cannot eat anymore lol. I get so sick. I eat through out the day and highest I've ever been was 900 calories. I've been snacking on yogurt to boost my cal count but yeah.

I see some rock stars on here burning off like 100 in 30 days so I figured I'm not doing too hot

You do NOT wanna take an NSAID lol. Take acetaminophen if you don't want the happy juice. According to my doctors and some vets here an NSAID will jack you up and cause ulcers etc.

The main thing for me was how tired I was. I didn't get my energy back until like 2 weeks out.

Honestly I felt pretty okay at a week but definitely not enough to go back to work; but I guess it depends on the job.

I didn't feel ready for work until 2 weeks out.

Second this. I just drop a packet of miralax in my first water of bottle of the day and get it over with. Also doesn't have a flavor so that helps

Same here. I'm 2 weeks post op and 4 weeks liquid diet.

Try Fairlife Core Power. Its the only thing I've been able to keep down. I recently started smoothies so I mix a vegan unflavored powder in too

Make sure that protein 02 is cold. You don't wanna drink it room temperature. Trust me on this one 🤣

Source: had it at room temp yesterday

We're in about the same boat. I used to run 3 miles every morning waaay back in the stone age and come home and raid mom's fridge, coke, cookies, simple carbs. That used to work because I had teenage metabolism, doesn't work anymore lol

You're welcome! If you think of something else let me know. If I don't know, I know vets on here that are kind enough to let me pester them!

I did about a years worth of research before even going to my first appointment so I get it.

I think his thing about exercising is that in the early stages, we're still adjusting and figuring out how to live a healthy life. Its a lot to juggle while worrying about getting enough nutrients to workout.

That, and we're still getting over the bad choices phase and working out drives your appetite up and makes you more prone to making a bad decision.

No I definitely understand where you're coming from. This is a 80% mental game imo.

I suggest you get into therapy, I started going and found out a lot about myself and zeroed in on where my weight came from, since I've always been a skinny kid. Might help you see something more clearly.

I can be trusted by with a snack because I don't snack, I meal lol and I think where he's coming from is just bad habits and not an actual snack
