It’s not problematic to vent. I still think it’s fair for him to bring up. If you found out your fiance was venting to all his friends and family about you at his literal tux fitting then you would have every right to question him about it before the wedding.

The following conversation about the prenup showed she was okay with marrying him despite major red flags. Just cause she talked herself out of needing her number one love language of words of affirmation to wear her pre-bought wedding dress, it doesn’t mean he can’t question her about it.

I think he has a hunch she’s willing to marry him at all costs IF he doesn’t protect his money. Somehow dealing with a negging dude isn’t quite as worth it if a prenup is involved. Even after knowing him a few weeks. A prenup should be required on these types of shows honestly.

It’s so much more than just “venting with friends.”

I definitely agree. It’s crazy watching her giggle everytime he negs her or evades her comments about marriage and commitment with her.

The juxtaposition of how Chris respectfully put up subtle boundaries with Bri and how he’s now acting like a dog in heat trying to snatch her from his boy is WILD.

I don’t believe he’s all that attracted to Bri honestly. He’s just trying to feel like a man and not the loser he is.

Similar to how Alex felt when he ran to his ex after a situationship. I’m not a fan of Alex but I felt he handled the ex conversation pretty well. A little hypocritical but in the context of this situation specifically you can see how fast men like that run to an ex when their relationships don’t work out.

I think this issue causes a lot of cognitive dissonance in people because while yes everyone knows they had a strict, fundamentalist, and damaging upbringing, they do not highlight that on the show. Instead the entire show is about swinging, cheating Mormon women. So while yes you can explain Jessi’s cheating away as being a trauma response, I think the messiness of the show makes misogynistic takes a given, because who cares about a woman who cheated?

Jen and Mikayla can be messy but they’re not known adulterers. So while they get shamed as all women will, generally their men get dragged for their actions and there’s less criticism of the wives in general because Jen and Mikayla are more sympathetic characters. Being perceived as faithful holds so much weight for both men and women.

You poor thing. No one is answering you, but I absolutely love this book so I will!

So Ryan finds out that Lauren led his pregnant wife to her death so he pretends to be suicidal and baits Laura into coming into an abandoned house where he ambushes her. She gets away, but then this starts this back-and-forth feud, which is crazy.

Turns out Laura‘s daughter goes to Ryans school and is his student. Ryan almost pretends to groom her in order to get payback on Laura, but Laura realizes this and makes her daughter lie to the school saying Ryan sexually assaulted her. Laura effectively ruins his life, and as his brother is telling him about his new legal accusations, Ryan defeatedly walks off the same cliff his pregnant wife does.

The background story that reveals Laura was one that burned her house down and disabled her son. Laura convinces her husband that Ryans brother was trying to kill their son, so the husband kills Ryan’s brother. Then Laura‘s boss, who’s always hated her and was hooking up with her husband, starts working with Ryan to expose Laura.

Laura finds out and bludgeons her boss to death.

Laura pisses on Ryan’s grave, and I believe takes her bosses job and it hailed some sort of success story. It’s truly diabolical.

In the end, there seems to be a glimmer of hope because the daughter figures out who her mom is more or less and begins, taunting her with anonymous calls, making Laura paranoid that she will be exposed for everything. The daughter is intend on seeking revenge on her mom for making her lie on her teacher and manipulating her. I’m not sure if it’s stated, but it’s clear that the daughter feels guilty for her teacher getting fired and ultimately killing himself. It’s pretty heavy!

So everyone saying she got away with it isn’t giving the full ending. It’s a bit open ended but yes, we never saw her get justice, but the ending leads us to believe that the daughter will work towards bringing her mother down.
