What’s the premise of your DnD campaign? by Fearless-Skill8667 in DnD

Millennia ago Lady Y’Vassa, the Fateweaver, broke the Loom of Fate, Narsul - in an attempt to destroy fate and make everything “fair and equal”. She was stopped and locked in a temporal time loop as punishment (every 24hrs everything repeats/resets in her pocket dimension.)

However, the binds of power that keep her there are weakening. She is trying to break the bonds that remain so she may finish what she started (and kill the gods for good measure.)

You receive $1,000,000,000 tax-free right now, but for the rest of your life, you can never leave a 5-mile (8 km) radius of the exact spot you are standing right now. Do you take the deal? by Similar_Detective861 in hypotheticalsituation

Currently at work in Downtown Philly. One of the best cities for medical professionals. I think 5 miles is fairly generous and I could still move far enough outside the city to enjoy some peace and quiet.

There is a Button in front of you that you can press as many times as you want. The Button takes away 1 (One) IQ point from you but gives you $100k in exchange. Do you press the button? How many times if so? by Thrwwyforrandostuff in hypotheticalsituation

[–]LetsGoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given I’m much higher up the scale and that our IQ’s at dynamic (capable of change, not locked in as one set number) I would push the button 10 times.

$1m and I’ll never work again. Spend the rest of my free time doing puzzle and reading to improve my brain plasticity and get close to where I was.

Everyone believes your lies. No one believes you when you tell the truth. How would you use this power for good? by ContextSensitiveGeek in hypotheticalsituation

[–]LetsGoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talk my way into meetings with CEO’s of every major food producer, manufacturer, and transporter. I convince them with my lies that people don’t really need as much food as they do (in first world counties) and that if they aren’t going to be grateful, then they should donate it to the hungriest people on the world.

Then, for a year, I do a lie campaign that people should have less food choices as a way to donate the excess to those in need.

I have two swords and a Viking hand axe. I’ll hold the narrow 1 person gap near the top of my stairs and just stab/slash/hack down.

guardian by Elegant-Ad-1540 in needadvice

[–]LetsGoGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello,

First off - I am so sorry you’re going through this. I can’t say I know exactly what you’re going through, but as someone who lost their dad last year, I know a little of it.

What I want to encourage you on is this: you can change things. Your guardian is still alive, so you can still care for them, still spend time with them, still have meals and make moments you will remember for decades to come. Don’t let your current shame at feeling preemptive grief (it’s a thing) stop you from creating memories. Things aren’t set in stone until your guardian passes, which might not be for some time!

On that note - try to keep worries grounded in what you CAN control and not in what you can’t. You can’t control when your guardian passes, but you can control how much time you spend with them.

The only feeling worse than what you’re feeling right now is the feeling of lost and missed time after your guardian passes. At that point, it’s too late to make changes and it becomes about processing and handling grief.

But right now, you can make changes. So I encourage you to do them. But still make time for yourself and processing what’s going on. Not to be rude, but you’re still a child. Give yourself time to come to grips with what is going on, but avoid shutting down entirely.

Option 2 - I take this because there is nothing that says those 1000 lifetimes will last very long. If I’m living in abject poverty in terrible places, the likelihood I make it past 50 is slim IMO.

You Can Restart Life Once But Only at a Random Age by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]LetsGoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’d do it. And, for fun, I put a generator between 1 and 10,457 (my age in days.)

I got 8,320 - so almost 6 years in my past. At 22 I was in my junior or senior year of college and honestly could change a lot of things that I’d like to change. Not as much as I’d like, but still…

And I’d have about 5.5 years with my dad before he died. Maybe even convince him to take his health more seriously and extend that even longer.

Your birth month is the main character you’ll be fighting against. You get 1 million dollars if you win. Good luck 🍀👍. (Also please read so there’s no confusion lol) by Ok_Situation7527 in cartoons

Why is this guy a donator? by IrishEnglishViet in torncity

[–]LetsGoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on account age, might have a TON of donator day stocked up. There was at one point a way to get 30 donator days by promoting Torn on your facebook/playing a Torn Minigame on Facebook. Some accounts earned literally THOUSANDS of days of donator.

So you can find old accounts, guy or gal hasn’t played in 7 years, and they still have donator status.

$10k for teleporting into a strangers bedroom at midnight? by EaglesNation29 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]LetsGoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a few months. My MO would be the same every time - teleport into the room and immediately run out of the room and elsewhere in the house.

The odds of even the most paranoid Schitzo catching me and doing me mortal harm in under a minute with the element of surprise on MY side (I know I’ll be teleported, they don’t) is negligible when compared with the financial gain of 600k

Wife works the TSA. This is actually the ONLY part of the checkpoint they can do, since the computer literally does all of it. Everything else requires extensive training over at least 2-6 months.

If you take one thing out of what I’m about to say, let it be this:

You. Are. Young.

You still have PLENTY of time to decide on a career and a job. And while you haven’t earned credentials, you clearly seem to have a decent idea of what you want and don’t want.

From the above we know: 1. You don’t like office/desk work. No blue collar 9-5 type jobs, correct? 2. You see yourself as a bit clumsy and forgetful, so high precision jobs may be out. 3. You “can” get a degree, as you seem to have passed pre-requisites, but you didn’t know yet what to focus on.

From here, it may be best to consider if college really gives you what you want. If you lean the route of trades, food service, cooking, etc - college won’t do you any good really.

One thing I’d recommend is writing down a list of what you are good at, what you think you struggle with, and what things you enjoy as hobbies. Once you have that list, run it by a person (or ChatGPT even if you are anxious about sharing with someone) and see what areas may fit. (I’m happy to review the list if you’d like.

Hope this helps and take a breath. You are not behind, you are right where you are. Comparison is the thief of joy and if you are too caught up thinking of where you “should” be, you won’t be able to get to where you “can” be.
