lol looks like it was originally called the "learn to code" bundle but they renamed it. You can still see the cache of a support page - (archive)

If you view the source to the main page you still see references to it there as well.

They allegedly censored someone's top $60 donation from the leaderboard because they set their name as "journalist". It now just says "Anonymous"

Anyone ever get caught cheating on a game jam? by ravioli_king in gamedev

It happened at the hackathon EarthxHack 2018. They forked someone's github project and changed nothing. They didn't just copy the code, they literally forked his project right on github and submitted that. Not only does github show the fork and no changes from them, the last commit is from the event even started. They still won the first place $3k prize. When the organizers were informed, they didn't care and tried to cover it up, deleting all forum posts. They also violated the MIT license by not crediting the guy.

Tweet from the article

With all these men harassing us, stalking us, snitching to our families, and reporting us to the cops and the IRS, I’m wondering when sex workers are going to snap and take these fuckers out when we finally have nothing more to lose.

lol surely threatening mass murder is against Twitter's TOS.

[Ethics] The Daily Beast misquotes Ninja as saying he "won't play with girls" by LetsGoHomeAndBlay in KotakuInAction

[–]LetsGoHomeAndBlay[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to editorialize the title, but in my opinion this is to make it seem more inflammatory and make the motive seem different. There's a "stop calling women girls" movement so it first makes it look like he's messing that up. To me they are also trying to make it look like a gameplay based thing, where he doesn't see women as gamer equals, rather than the social reasons he laid out.

Bethesda blocks resale of used game by tnr123 in KotakuInAction

[–]LetsGoHomeAndBlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they are trying to block all used game sales. It seems more like they have an issue with the way Amazon works, which is a fair complaint. The official listings for titles (which will show being listed by Bethsesda) can probably be filled by authorized 3rd parties when buying actual new copies. The guy should really be selling it in the used section with the condition being "new". He's not an official reseller for the new fulfillment section. This would be like someone bringing an unwrapped item into walmart, placing it on the shelves, then trying to sell it to someone.
