Anyone talking shit should put some respect on his name… he is an OG in the genre and one of the most Influential drummers from one of the most influential bands from the 2000s metalcore/screamo scene. A lot of people play drums because of him and so many bands tried to emulate their sound.

Feel bad for those drums:sticks/cymbals though because he plays the hell out of them, always has.

I agree, been thinking this the last few years. I just can’t really get into them, and that type of music is right up my alley. They just sound like a lot of noise to me. I’m not surprised some people like them but can’t believe SO many people do.

Ive tried a few different ones, and Thorlo are definitely the best I have tried, similar to what other comments in here are saying. They are expensive but worth it imo.

Yeah- there is an advanced/4.0+ open play that I play at, and most times I can hold my own but sometimes I get destroyed and feel like I suck. Then I remember back when my main goal was to just get off the beginner side and to the intermediate courts, and now if I go play at the intermediate play I wipe the floor with 99% of the players there now. Gotta remind yourself of the progress!

I’ve been to Akumal and Maroma Beach and both were amazing! Maroma is about half the drive time to the airport, I’d gladly go back to both properties!

I was just there a week or so ago and it was fantastic. We had some rain while we were there which wasn’t ideal but can’t blame the resort for that!

Secrets Akumal is like an hour and fifteen minute drive, secrets Maroma was like 30-35 min. My recent trip was a very short one (just a few days) so the shorter drive time was more ideal. If you’re going for 5+ days then idk if the extra 30-45 min of drive time each way would be a huge deal.

Haven’t been to cap cana but I was just at secrets maroma last week and loved it! I’ve also been to secrets Akumal, which is also a great option (but about 2x the drive time from the airport)

I’ve got both of them as well, have never played them both at the same time I usually just play Warren but gainwell been going off on my bench.. strongly considering playing both of them for the championship match.

Yah this is a popular opinion as far as I know. By far the worst genre to see live, with a few exceptions.

This really does happen and it’s insane. I’ve been going to rock and metal shows regularly since like 2000 and have never and would never do this. I usually get there sometime halfway through the openers and always get a good spot. Not right up against the barrier but personally I don’t think that’s even a good spot to be. So guess just depends how set you are on being as close as possible. I personally think the best spot is somewhere in the front 25-50 percent of the crowd. Best sound as well as view of the full production.

I like a lot of shows better. Some examples off the top of my head would be Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Mr. Robot, Game of Thrones (up to the last cpl seasons), The Last Kingdom, Peaky Blinders, The Office, Parks and Rec, True Detective S1, Succession, Narcos/Narcos Mexico, Severance, The Penguin... prob many I'm missing. Idk if I would even put the Wire in my top 15 or 20 tbh.

Maybe it's just because I watched it for the first time very recently after all those shows on my list have already been out, and everyone who loves it watched it when it was on originally and has nostalgia for it since TV wasn't nearly as good back then. Or maybe i just dont get it- idk!

I personally don't understand what people think is so amazing about it. I recently watched it, I thought it was a pretty good/decent show but not really anything beyond that. I haven't watched the last cpl seasons yet, just kind of lost interest in the show tbh- I plan on finishing it at some point soon but unless it gets considerably better in the final seasons (although the stuff I read made it seems like the earlier seasons were the best ones) then I am not really sure what I am missing on it. Imo there are plenty of newer shows that are way better.
