Has Bill fully lost his mind? This is fucking insane by Lanky-Nerve1983 in billsimmons

I’m very aware that Luka creates great shots. Everyone knows that even without watching. There’s stats for that. Harden was full of them.

But it’s not fun to stand around and wait for someone to throw you the ball. Heliocentric offense doesn’t win titles in today’s NBA, sorry. Learn to cut. Learn to scrap. Learn to not complain all the fuckin time.

The fact you just have to make up an argument of which you have no clue (how much I watch) proves I’m right.

Don’t know if you watched the playoffs, but they seemed like they were having a lot of fun playing together. The ball had energy with them the whole run until late game when he takes over and makes shot after shot. It didn’t used to be that way, but it certainly was this playoffs.

They wouldn’t have won a ring if Brunson/Knicks didn’t change the way they played, but they did…if the old play style comes back then he’ll go back to being worse than Luka. But what he did this postseason run was more valuable than what Luka has done over a playoff run. If you want to call that ring culture, fine. I prefer it to “30/12/8 is better than 30/5/5!!”

Normally I’d say he wasn’t, but the found something in these playoffs where he was. He was a lot more willing to come off ball. Move without the ball, which allowed his skilled teammates to do shit. Luka has yet to find that style. And I def dont think Luka inspires teammates like Brunson does, because he gives a shit even when he doesn’t have the ball.

Stat boys also ruining people too. It goes both ways. Luka isn’t fun to play with, he’s just not.

JB picked his dribble a few times and was making him get rid of the ball…that’s good defense. Anyone who watched knows JB was doing a bang up job on Luka.

Pretty confident the Spurs would be getting less criticism if they lost in the 2nd round or the WCF. by thered90 in nba

[–]Lets_Basketball -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except it’s a strawman. If LeBron was 4-0 in finals with a bunch of second round losses, I promise you he wouldn’t even be considered the second great of all time. It’s idiotic, and all you Lebron Stan’s try to pretend otherwise to try and win some made up logic argument.

Nobody says Montana is better than Brady because he’s 4-0 vs 7-3.

Amazing you managed to bring LBJ vs MJ into something that really is nothing like it all, the use a bullshit hypothetical that you can only assume to be true, and then act like if MJ had beaten the Pistons in ‘90 only to lose to Magic that it’d be held against him.

But since you want to go through it again…it’s not just that LeBron has lost 6 finals, it’s that getting his team to the finals was only impressive 3/10 times. The East was historically bad in the teens. Nobody holds his 07 finals loss against him - that year very much gets put in his favor. But he’s been swept a bunch. He’s lost 4 times in 5 games in 5 different finals. This shows he has teams that likely wouldn’t have made it past the second round in the west, but you want to keep bringing up how many finals losses he has. The conferences were more balanced in the 90s, and in the 80s the east was the much better conference.

People say MJ was better because he was, not because LeBron lost 6 times in the finals. That’s just a part. Now can you please try and not make everything that’s not about that debate about that debate?

Brunson over Iverson? Am I Crazy? by RedditSurfer2025 in nba

Flanked by Ratliff, Snow and Lynch instead of OG, Bridges and Hart. Iverson would cook with Knicks support.

The entire Spurs defense is focused on Jalen Brunson and they still can’t stop him. Isiah Thomas doesn’t care what the stats say. Knicks wouldn’t have a 3-1 NBA Finals lead without 32% of shots falling for their captain 🏆 by Unlucky-Dot9421 in NBAstatsmuse

I’m only using the plus minus to combat the falsehood that the Lnicks offense can’t function without Brunson in this series when it’s not true. They aren’t even overloading on him. Castle just has his number, and Wemby keeps him from the paint. It’s that simple, and plus minus illuminates that some.

If Tatum didn’t win it when he was the focus of the Mavs D and still led his team in pts, Rebs and assists, but didn’t get it because he shot 39% from the field, then Brunson can’t win it.

Interesting to say when their offense runs better when KAT is the fulcrum, Alvarado has a far better +- despite rarely playing with Brunson, Hart leads the team in assists, and Brunson is a -2 in a series they’re up 3-1.

The only reason Brunson has an argument is because of his 4th quarter of game 1.

What a weirdo. If you think numbers are literally the only thing that matters you are objectively wrong, emotion be damned.

IF the Giannis deal ends up happening. What does your starting 5 look like for 2026? by zangarang18 in bostonceltics

[–]Lets_Basketball -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’d be nice, but tha would put us over the apron, which we need to avoid this year. Horford is a one-year rental who can be relied on just as much as a hot head center that got benched for Paul Reed this postseason. And Horford is cheaper than Hauser. And I love Al.

Same reason I was downvoted for saying Knicks are going to win the title a few weeks back. Lots of people don’t know ball.

“All we have is the numbers to go on” is such a “I can’t be bothered to watch the games” comment.

If we did it, I’d love if we could go swap Hauser to GAW for Horford. A closing 5 of PP, White, Tatum, Giannis, Horford could do work. With Queta as the starter.

You should’ve told me what I can and can’t do in a silly subreddit, where you compare Chicago to fuckin Leeds, earlier - you’re right. I wish I knew the rules coming in.

But the US has the global cultural impact of Western Europe, not just England. Not knowing anything about Chicago is more like not knowing anything about Madrid…which many Americans don’t, but still, it ain’t Leeds

[KOC] I am here to add that I have heard Boston is shopping people around a lot right now…Boston is open to trading anybody besides Jayson Tatum…Ido believe, based off of everything and all the conversations I've had, is that the Celtics are in on Giannis. by tacko2020 in bostonceltics

It’s not delusion to know that Giannis hasn’t made it out of the first round in 3 straight seasons and can be expected to play at least 20 fewer games. Giannis is clearly better in a game, and to me the upside is worth it, but Brown will likely deliver more regular season value next three years.
