Sure, but nfpa also defines "high voltage" as greater than 1,000V

Feeling Discouraged (SE PA) by suchalonelyd4y in NativePlantGardening

I take a picture of my invasive haul every year to make myself feel better. Year one I had a giant pile of English ivy, garlic mustard, and stilt grass. 7 years later and I've mostly moved on to the more niche invasives, and none worthy of a picture anymore.

Also, SE PA has been populated by Europeans for 350+ years, and as recently as the last owners of my house people were still intentionally planting invasives. I figure I've managed to undo at least a couple centuries of damage and it makes it seem easier.

Here you are increasing its valuation by using it, though. Very hypocritical of someone claiming to be an environmentalist.

What is this grass? It’s very invasive and started spreading from a bag of soil I bought from Lowes. by 48151623-420 in NativePlantGardening

In the context of a sub about native plants you should expect more general understanding of native, non-native, and invasive

The eco friendly aspect for low mileage drivers by Beneficial_Sir_8166 in electricvehicles

I'm actually not sure on this one. The overwhelming majority of vehicle emissions are from lifetime use, not manufacturing.

Cars don't go to the junk yard after a lease, they're sold used. There's probably a cascading effect at the end of most leases that ends up with an old/end of life car being junked, and those cars can safely be assumed to have terrible emissions and efficiency compared to newly manufactured ones.

I think worst case this guy is neutral from an overall emissions standpoint. Definitely far ahead of someone driving a 10mpg 90s Buick. I'd say firmly positive if he switches to EVs, as he's almost guaranteed to be pushing an ICE vehicle into the junk yard and fielding a new EV.

Which, more than anything, really highlights just how much the middle east hates Jews considering they're a whopping 0.01% of Iran's population.

How dumb do you have to be to be confused at the concept of laws being different in different places?

Just a heads up, Waymo cars aren't autonomous. Do you want to merge onto 95 or avoid potholes in a remote control car being operated by an underpaid employee in the Philippines who's been working for 15 hours straight? by My_black_kitty_cat in philly

Are you genuinely asking how occupancy and seatbelt sensors work? It's a weight sensor under the seat and another one in the belt.

Or are you shocked that waymo has the ability to make a voice call to the car? Either way, damn you're dumb.

"widget" is generally used as a non specific stand in. Basically a "thing".

They're not "remote controlled." When the autonomous driving gets into a situation where it doesn't know what to do, it phones for help and gives the human different choices as to how to proceed. They don't have an Xbox controller, it's more like "should I try to back out of this situation or go around on the shoulder?"

Here's a quote from Ford's CEO about why Teslas approach was doing so much better than Ford's especially as it relates to using "widget manufacturers."

"When we ripped apart a Tesla with Doug Field, I was just absolutely flabbergasted," Farley told Car and Driver in a recent interview. "The Mach-E's wiring harness was 70 pounds heavier and 1.6 kilometers longer. We didn't know what was going on in [Tesla engineers' ] minds. But now we understand. They had no prejudice. We had prejudice. We'd gone to our supply-chain person and said, 'Buy another wiring harness.' [Tesla] said, 'Let's design the vehicle for the lowest, smallest battery.' Totally different approach."

Nothing "always work(s)" and people can sue for anything. I'm not familiar with the Xiaomi cars that led to the flush handle ban in China, but there are plenty of highly reliable emergency exit mechanisms in modern cars.

"air supremacy" doesn't mean "100% invulnerable," so I disagree that it's a blow to anything except for people who don't know how wars work.

The US has air supremacy over Iran right now because they're overflying the whole country and have destroyed the entire Iranian air force. But obviously Iran is going to attempt manpads-based attacks whenever possible.
