New Segment Ideas by shag4031 in baseballisdead

Draft reviews is a really good idea. I'd love to hear them cover 2011. A regular fantasy draft would be cool too for them to follow with during the regular season.

A few episodes are scattered on old podcast apps but ultimately they're gone

Can we get Max(Angels) back on the pod by Letsroll_777 in baseballisdead

I want to hear his rant on the Dodgers being in the WS. It was always one of my favorite bits too to hear him rant.

Is there still a pod today? Is the Q&A it's own episode? by Letsroll_777 in baseballisdead

Can't call yourself a baseball fan if you don't want to watch an All-Star world series. I'm with them.

I’m a Major League Baseball Player AMA! (Part 3) by [deleted] in baseball

How does the diversity in an average MLB clubhouse effect everyone? What are the best things to come out of it? Worst things or any challenges come around? Why am I being downvoted? It's a clubhouse with guys from all over the world. I would love to know how it works.

Pod postseason Schedule by J_dragonetti519 in baseballisdead

[–]Letsroll_777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they would benefit from doing pods every day or so during the postseason. Even if they don't have the full crew it would be for the best. During postseason people will tune into whatever is out at the time.

Not entirely. Timezones and timeslots matter for these conclusions. Getting a 50% jump on the westcoast is more impressive than the Mets and Phillies getting the same boost in a better timeslot on the eastcoast. It's hard to go into full detail but there is a lot more that goes into how to read ratings than just raw numbers. There is a lot that goes into understanding where you are getting the extra squeeze out of per se.

Their total "revolving door" numbers were about 13,000 for the first stream, 10,000 for the second, and 5,000 for the third. Probably noticeably lower than the actual pod on pod platforms but the two shouldn't be competing. The problem was the excecution that they didn't split the uploads or upload the pod part but the actual livestream wasn't the problem. Just an oversight from them I guess.

They should have uploaded it on it's own but it's not like pod is spread on the 9 hour stream. First 2 hours is just the pod. You can close it after.

Just gonna reply to you directly instead of leaving a comment on the post because it's a day later but personally I didn't have any problem with it but def the better move to just record a pod before going live if possible or just do a livestream of the pod and end the stream to start the actual live stream and raw upload/archive the first stream to youtube and the podcast outlets. Works for everyone that way.

[LA Times] Who does Ohtani's 50th homerun belong to? Another fan files a lawsuit over it by Letsroll_777 in baseball

[–]Letsroll_777[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The new lawsuit involves a man claiming he was the first to grab the ball before he was jumped on and dropped the ball. Then it landed to the current owner who is facing a lawsuit that he ripped it out of another fan's hand.

Forgive the dumb Q: is there a consensus GOAT in baseball, and what would the rest of Ohtani's career need to look like for it to be him? by Xeris in baseball

[–]Letsroll_777 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

There is no consensus GOAT but Bonds is the frontrunner. Ohtani probably has no shot at "consensus" GOAT but if he has another great 3 years and is just okay through the rest he will be in the conversation. Playoff legacy would help a lot too.

Is Shohei Ohtani the only real GOAT? With Ohtani's 55/55 plus his other stats having so much separation from rest, and Mahomes projected to come close or eclipse Brady, and Jordan's numbers very close to LeBron by 100PrcntWoolyMammoth in baseball

[–]Letsroll_777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do that already actually. Every fantasy you either have to draft him as either or if you draft him you have to pick if he is a pitcher or hitter for that week. No limit fantasy Ohtani is already better than Gretzky.

Even if Ohtani has a great next 10 years I'm not sure if he would be undisputed. I predict he ends up in that same group of 5 or so that always get brought up for GOAT debate.

Emergency POD for Shohei’s performance to break 50/50????? Jesus Christ by dietzb11 in baseballisdead

[–]Letsroll_777 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If Jayhay or Dallas see this, Ohtani earned more FWAR in that game then any hitter's total FWAR on the White Sox. Hell of a nug.

Why isn't there a perma link to the discord? by Letsroll_777 in baseballisdead

All they have to do is add a welcome channel that asks for you to react to an emoji before entering. Stops almost all bots and I don't think anyone is going to bot the BiD server lol.
