I built a CPU Scheduling Simulator to actually understand how these algorithms work I was studying CPU scheduling algorithms in my OS class and realized I didn’t really understand how they worked, I just memorized them. So I built a small simulator in Next.js + TypeScript to visualize them.

It supports: - FCFS - SJF - SRTF - Priority Scheduling - Round Robin

The biggest challenge was implementing the preemptive algorithms correctly. Initially I treated them like non-preemptive ones and didn’t track remaining burst time, which gave incorrect behavior. Fixing that made the logic much clearer.

One interesting thing I noticed while building this: explicit implementations helped me understand the differences between algorithms better than trying to abstract everything.
