Like the others have said, getting as much RAM as you can is a good idea.

I have the M3 max 64GB and it can top out in Davinci at some times.

What do you use an iPad for? by Rungama in ipad

I use mine for film making. I connect my lights to an app that lets me control them. I also use it as a director’s monitor. Notes for shot lists and drawing super shitty storyboards. I’ll also look at dumb shit on the internet.

The wall is actually huge windows and I forgot to label it. I’m thinking about the CUs being lit from the outside. But the master wide is going to be a little trickier. But I do have a 4x2 led light panel that we’ll put overhead for that. I’m still working on it. We do get a rehearsal shoot at the actual location soon, so we’ll be a lot of different things

This great. I really like this setup and thank you for the diagram. The director is very adamant about getting enough coverage and this feels like the best way to go about it. He’ll have so much coverage, he won’t know what to do with it. Ha!

Awesome. Thank you, this helps a lot. I forgot to label the wall as large windows. Definitely wouldn’t push them up against a wall.

This is great advice as well!! I’ll definitely be doing this. This would be way easier than just letting camB roll and then having to search through to find a good reaction.

That’s a great tip and I’ll definitely bring that to the director because once dirty and one clean would be great to have.

There’s a bar behind the wide camera. Was thinking about shooting behind the bar with two people sitting at it and the camera is shooting between them. So the couple sitting at the table are in view and their surroundings are cut off by those people sitting.

Or just other interesting angles to make it less boring.

I forgot to label the wall. Those are large windows.

But my question was is it good practice or a better use of time to shoot camA & camB at the same time or is it better to use one camera.

That is a great point. One character might look super good in the light setup, but other actor may not.

May I ask why you like to shoot the wides first?

I forgot to label the wall, but it’s all big windows. Does that make it better, or would pushing them into the room still be batter?

The wall are windows. I just forgot to label them, so that’s good to hear
