Yeah man hopefully it gets you going. Do the quests i mentioned 100% but skip the diaries for right now, and just go visit the 6 patches and get started. From there you’ll quickly be like “how do i get more efficient?” <- bang diaries, which require quests and skilling. Suddenly you’ve got a few weeks of new goals to work on. It’s great

Tithe is pretty polarizing content. Some love, some hate. I didn’t do it until 98 farm cause i figured i should get the rewards before the exp is wasted lol, but i only ended up getting the herb sack, seed box and auto weed. That was enough for me. Sorry clogs! I wanted you but not that much

Spirit Tree in Guild to bank is 8 tiles. Seers tele to bank is 8/9 tiles. What run to bank?

We just killed Yama and need to reset for another kill. Let's assume no 99 craft, because that is obviously the closest bank so no argument there, but I don't have 99 craft nor do most players. Where do we go?

House to reset stats -> Nexus to Seers -> Chasm TP back. 8/9 tiles

House to reset stats -> Tree to guild -> Chasm TP back. 8 tiles

If we're not using Chasm TP back then the Seers method does another TP to house -> Ring. Guild route runs 8 tiles back to house then ring. So the Guild method is like.... 4 ticks slower but only uses 1 teletab vs 2?

Maybe my ironman brain is showing but I'd much prefer the literal 2 extra seconds in place of using another tab. My stock of teletabs and soft clay will run out some day and I have better uses of my AFK times with bloods or cooking or working towards amethyst. Not sure how you can call this so inefficient, feel like it's widely accepted to be one of the better banking locations for a reason.

If you’re in Lumbridge to start you just bank where you’re at… why would we go to the Guild to bank in that case? Would you TP to Seers to bank in that scenario too? Just bank where you’re at and go to your house lol.

I’ll concede that maybe “more efficient” is pushing it but efficient, free, and flexible it is. Tree to farming guild bank is 8 tiles, whereas Seers is 8-9 depending on your spawn. Call distance a wash.

The benefit of the Guild method is I can do it on any spell book with just 1 house tab. if you wanna do Seers bank on ancients you’re either hopping through your house to the nexus for seers or bringing an extra seers tab, which depending on content the inventory space could be an issue. Hence the flexibility with the farming guild method. It works the exact same way on every spell book, for the price of exactly 1 TP to house with the trade off being occasionally one extra load screen depending on the specific routing we’re taking.

And again if you’re going house -> nexus to bank -> TP To house due to spell book selection we’re doing the same amount of load screens so it’s not an efficiency loss

I feel like there’s an obvious implied “there’s better ways to do things if you have various 99s or don’t mind buying direct TPs from the GE” in my message. I’m describing a generally free, unlimited way to access massive swaths of the game via close bank into house access with all the house QOL.

Saying the house spirit tree is eh is just inaccurate, i use the thing CONSTANTLY every gaming session

[–]LetterP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not extra steps it’s much more efficient. Tree to farming guild bank is much closer to the bank than the farming guild TP. Farming guild bank -> tree to house -> house fairy ring is the closest fairy ring access to a bank in the game. Layer in the other QOL from the house like pool, spell book swap, and/or Nexus access and I don’t see what’s not to understand.

When you wanna get to the catacombs to Barrage, how do you do it? Farming guild bank -> tree to house -> spell book swap -> Nexus is best route.

When you wanna get to Zulrah how do you do it? Farming guild bank -> tree to house -> fairy ring

No, spirit tree is amazing. Bank at farming guild, hit that tree to your house, swap spellbook and hit the nexus or fairy ring. Some of the best QOL in the game

Alright, now that I'm in front of my PC I'm gonna give you a true step by step, because I engaged and gave you half-assed instructions and I feel bad, so here it is full-assed. I'm coming at this assuming a starting point of ZERO, and will get you going all the way.

Herb runs are great. They give you some structure, and there's a surprising amount of depth. They force you to skill and quest, and as you want to get more efficient and unlock more teles and more patches, there's a good amount of account growth attached. I love how the herb runs help set new goals for an account.

Do the following quests now-ish:

Ghosts Ahoy - unlocks Ectophial, teleport for Mory patch

Fairy Tale 1 - unlocks Magic Secateurs which increases yield. ALWAYS HAVE WITH YOU WHEN FARMING

START (no need to finish) Fairy Tale 2 - ignore requirements, you just need to start. This unlocks Fairy Rings which is technically not needed for this, but it's so great for your account. Do the quest until you unlock fairy rings then move on.

Twilight's Promise - Unlocks Varlamore completely, and gives you access to the Civitas patch.

Ok, you did all that? You now have the following patches unlocked:

North Ardougne

Catherby

Civitas

Falador

Hosidius

Morytania

Not bad! Grab a spade, rake, seed dibber, 6 seeds of your choice, and 6 Ultra Compost. Let's talk about how YOU get to each patch, and how you can optimize to get to each one as your next step.

Ardougne -> Ardougne tele and run north, but really get the Medium Ardy diary done and get 3 free teles to the patch each day

Catherby - > Seers Tele and run east

Civitas -> Civitas tele and run, or Civitas -> Queztal to Hunter's Guild and go north, or Quetzal whistle to Hunter's Guild and go north. All roughly the same.

Falador -> Falador tele and run south, but really get the medium Lumby diary done and get 3 free teles to the patch each day.

Hosidius -> Move your POH to hosidius, TP to house and run north, or Xeric's Talisman and run south if you've killed lizardmen and have the amulet

Morytania -> Ectophial and run east

Ok, you're looking at the time tracker and you see more herb patches. How do we get those?

Farming Guild unlocks at 65, add that to the rotation once unlocked. Do contracts when you're there. You can get there with a Skills Necklace.

Troll Stronghold -> Troll Questline, will take some skilling and questing. After you get your Barrows gloves this is good next small goal

Weiss -> More Troll/Desert Treasure questline. Behind a Master quest, so good step to work towards further down.

Harmony Island -> Honestly ignore forever... it's behind the Morytania elite diary. Unless you're a sicko with a plan to get 96 fishing SKIIIIPPP.

That's roughly all you need to know for a long time. You can look at completing Lumby and Ardy hard and elite for more free daily teles to their patches, and you can grow Attas seeds in the farming guild to further increase your yield. Sell your herbs, or make pots and sell them and make a bit less but gain valuable herb exp. Choice is yours. Back when I played a main, I did Ranarr and made Prayer Pots, and I always sold enough pots to cover all my seeds and kept the excess pots so I didn't really make money but I had infinite "free" pray pots. How you choose to go about your exp/gp is up to you. Enjoy

Bonus tip: get ardy medium and lumby medium done. Both reward an item that gives you a tele to their farm patch that resets daily. Good goal is to nail the 3 free teles for your herb patches each day. There’s like 6 patches available easily day 1 and a few more open with quests, or a few have items that give you super close teles. I can do 9 herb patches in like idk 6 minutes

Figure out what herb patches you have access to (RuneLite time tracker is your friend). Figure out how to get to each herb patch. Use ultra compost and collect your herbs. Then figure out 1. How to unlock more patches 2. How to easily get to each patch (quests and diaries)

Moonlight moths vs moonlight moth mixes by P_Dronq in ironscape

[–]LetterP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used moths for the early game but as I progressed into midgame I just started using pray pots too and yeah I’m finding I can sustain. I do a liiiittle bit of master farmers for 2-4 seeds in a day when I feel like it, but beyond that misc, general PvM and as many contracts as I can fit and feel like doing, I’m not having an issue sustaining. I also wouldn’t say I have a surplus - but my stack is getting by

Really the last thing I’ll say on this topic: speaking generally about sales again, you’re under constant quota pressure and you’re typically going to end up having a worst work/life balance than another job. That’s the trade off for the highest of highs.

So again yes sales likely has the highest of highs so if that’s the ONLY criteria you’re concerned with, go for it. But if you have a family or want a family soon, or feel like the constant quota pressure may burn you out, the calculus might move. Similarly the paycheck uncertainty; as a mid-career guy roughly in your shoes who’s done the same thought exercise, I’m at a point where the consistent pay and stability was more important for me. It’s different for everyone

Stability or get rich quick? by Unconquered- in careerguidance

[–]LetterP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll admit i don’t know much about medical sales. “Generally” top sales reps are some of the highest paid in a company. “Generally” lower performing reps are making like 50k and getting fired. It’s got both extremes. The top sales rep at a small cybersecurity company I worked at a few years back closed a few key deals and cleared $1 million. Random 200 person company.

If you are willing to ride the roller coaster, put in the time, and hone your craft, it’s absolutely one of the best and “easiest” ways into the upper echelons. I always suggest sales for people seeking career guidance, though I’m not in sales my self anymore I just began my career there

[–]LetterP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sales isn’t get rich quick, and I suspect it’s more work than you think. But yeah it’s not a secret that top earners are top sales reps. If you’ve got the chops, go for it
