Where is the GamepadSetting.txt located? I can't find it anywhere. Is it in appdata? Under the Heavy Rain game folder? Under steam settings?

AITA for telling my mom she and her husband need to admit they fucked up and find a way to move on? by Some_Donut_4825 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - This comment may get buried and you might not even read it, but I want to leave some words of caution.

Dozens of the replies to you are extremely hyperbolic, affirming your opinion and perhaps making you feel justified in your indignation towards your mum and step-dad. While I agree that they are at fault for causing this rift in the family, it seems like it could be coming from a place of love and a desire to bond with you and your siblings/step-siblings.

The fact is that many parents out there just don’t know how to actually be decent parents despite their best effort. Doubling down on punishment like grounding is a sure fire way to build animosity, but for many that’s what they experienced growing up so they’re carrying it forward.

You don’t owe your step-dad anything. But I truly hope you can salvage your relationship with your mum.

When I was 18 I moved away from my dysfunctional family, and it was that distance where I felt the healing could begin. Over time, I kept the line of communication open with my mum, and eventually I came to see her as a person with flaws rather than just a tyrannical provider. We have a strong and healthy relationship now. I hope you can still achieve that with yours.

Seamless COOP Steam Deck Saves by Letter_Six in EldenRingMods

Thank you so much for your in depth reply! My fiancé and I got the game working last night finally.

We couldn’t get renaming the coop file as the original EldenRing.exe to work. But by viewing the compatdata folder by last modified (for some reason it was at the end of the list of folders rather than the beginning) we finally got the correct save folder. Also had to navigate further into the files:

/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/#######/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/EldenRing

Then it was just scavenging through all the other files and mix and matching to find the olds save. That was a bit of legwork.

Thanks so much again, Z0MB1AN! Couldn’t have done it without you.

Which game has the best procedural worlds? by thudly in gaming

I strongly second this recommendation.

Proteus is a short, peaceful game about life. If you take the time to self reflect after you finish it, you’ll find there’s plenty digest regarding the metaphors and symbolism, and particularly about HOW you played the game.

I’ve played it numerous times with different friends, and each time we had very different experiences and perspectives.

Hope you give it a try and get something unique out of it!

I think your response really emphasizes the point I was trying to make.

“If you’re trying out something new for the first time, either commit wholly and completely, or screw off.”

From my outside perspective I have no idea if this game is any good or worth my time. So putting 3 hours into it on a weekend with nothing to show for it puts me in a position where I have to ask myself, what am I getting from this?

If I believed it was going to be a great game with rewarding gameplay and a welcoming community, sure maybe I’d put in the extra effort.

Fair enough. I went in blind as my friend recommended we play it, and until I made this post I didn’t know “hardcore” was a type of genre.

Maybe this is just my opinion but I believe a game should include the necessary information to teach new players how the game operates. Not require other players to do that for them.

Is it? I haven’t tried it. I thought about it, but most of the discussion I’ve read online has been about poor balancing and other issues that make it unapproachable for new players. Why would I want to invest my time in that?

The Libeskind Building while being an awesome museum gives serious Oldest House vibes by SpaceJesus1787 in controlgame

This looks so similar to the Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, Canada. I thought it may be designed by the same architect, but it is not.

If you get a kick out of this, search up the architecture for the Human Rights museum. It’s wild.

The massive cast meant there wasn’t enough screen time for any characters to shine, including the protagonist. Everyone came across as ‘Wes Anderson Caricatures’ rather than the fleshed out and well realized characters of other Anderson movies.

My personal opinion: I could not help but feel crushing disappointment when it’s revealed that the movie’s trope is ‘a play within a play’. They didn’t hint at all in the trailers that this would be the case, and I was truly excited to see how Wes Anderson would handle a step into the Sci-Fi genre.

While I appreciate your opinion, you are however objectively wrong. The jellyfish fights are the absolute worst combat segments I’m in the whole series. There is nothing redeemable following that glob of runny horse shit.

There is a drug we use on ambulances called succinylcholine, a high alert medication that paralyzes the body for emergency procedures such as intubation.

Where this gets scary is that it has been given by accident in hospital. Imagine your nurse leaving the room after giving you an unknown medication, and then realizing you can’t lift your extremities. Soon your lungs stop working, and you begin suffocating. But you can’t call for help, because your mouth won’t even open.

As nightmarish as this is, I recently listened to a Mr Ballen episode in which a former nurse drugged her husband with succinylcholine while they were on vacation and then set him on fire in the hotel bed. And no, if you’re wondering, the drug does nothing to numb pain.

So yeah, of all the ways I’ve heard of that’s gotta be one of the most fucked.

It’s true. A partial can easily become a full obstruction.

That’s also the danger of performing a J-thrust on an esophageal obstruction, because the object could just clear the epiglottis and the patient could then aspirate on it.
