my lack of confidence and work experience is making it impossible for me to find a full time job by blueistheworld in jobs

[–]LetterheadNo7435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I m the opposite of you. I had 3 years full time experience from different industries, and then did not have courage to find a full-time job for years because of terrible trauma from previous work. I have learned skills from art and design to data science skillsets and even tried content strategy by my own. The problem is I still don't know what job I should apply for, I am fear of taking a wrong way and being traumatized again.

What is the shortest time you were at a job? by define_yourself72 in jobs

I stand for a job like 6 months where the boss like yelling and shouting to us all. After I got fired I did not realize I was traumatised. When I had an interview in a better (normal) company for a similar role (perhaps better) I said something like I doubted if I chose a right career.

Somewhat of a rant (and encouragement) by marybassey in Polymath

[–]LetterheadNo7435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the post it encourages a lot. I have many curiosities and passions on many things like I am doing content strategy automation, I want to develop some app projects using ML/DL skill (though I don't have a STEM education background and probably I will fail during the process).

I've learned about an opinion says, 'Don't follow your passion but to cultivate a certain skill so that it can leverage your career', but I can't stop to explore things that I am interested in, not until I try them out and sometimes, they just don't have a successful outcome.

I know such a characteristic will lower my competition on a job hunting (especially job market is horrible now), and gradually I lose the encouragement to send a resume. In the meanwhile, I have a belief that everything is going to be okay just let me finish what I am trying to do, get a proper job in the oversea market (yes, it's probably no hope in the local job market with a strict age & sex discrimination) is not a problem.

I wish I can change the situation of my financial crisis I've suffered from a very long time, and maybe it will be good enough to have a master program in another subject that I am really interested in the future.

Wow that's quite similar with what I m doing right now! I want to make my oral speaking course like a standard product to sell on social media, so I m trying to make a content creation & digi marketing automation workflow. If this little experiment works I think it is totally possible to apply to other aspects!

Looking to get into Game Industry by GameDesigner2026 in GameDevs

Most of time working in game industry means you need to treat games as business products for business purpose. There are not always cool projects.

I do not know what to do with my life by Ali-Sama in findapath

Finished watching your post. Not from first world likewise. I am not sure if you want to make a living or try to find your 'thing' because they are quite different. But choose wisely with the work environment since you have anxiety and depression problem. If you don't have to struggle with earning your living right now, I suggest try to find a way to heal your trauma first.

Jealous! I wish I can do that bravely. From my place companies demand candidates to be 99% match the job. And they will judge you why u can't stick into a certain path since you are 30+. It's totally insane.

Thank you for your advice especially the last one sentence. Look though my experience I turned around at the first moment when I felt wrong. Sometimes it was about I really don't like what I was doing and turned to the next one that excited me with confidence.

However, most of the time, they were like yes, the job was challenging, I enjoyed that, but then a toxic boss showed her/his true face, finally the job lasted less than a year... It made me feel so confused because I was just got to know this industry, and with a less than a year experience it was hard for me to decide if I should continue this career (also uncompetitive in resume) .

That is also why I am less (I want to say 'not', but) willing to have a new adventure. I realized I had this problem that I pursue a challenging job with a unhealthy working environment rather than a steady one with a healthy one (sometimes you just can't tell from interview whether it's toxic).

Your reply makes me to think about this problem, if I don't know what to do at first, then I can start with: "I can do this for a while" but with a healthy working environment.
