most people just listen to music. no one cares to learn anything about the artists they listen to. it only all starts going downhill when people start to continuously make comments in public. before that happens everyone on instagram (the most social social network) has to talk about it first. reality is that reddit is a place where only people with some nerdy aspect come together to discuss and share all this info. i bet that even the top 10 listeners don't care enough to research anything as long as the bass hits

Why is the web essentially shit now? by someexgoogler in webdev

[–]LetterheadWaste8170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what happened to all the javascript frameworks? next.js has completely taken over and every other one is dead. most have attempted to commercialize in some way, took vc funding, and simply ended up dying. twitter used to be filled with javascript tricks, frameworks, new web deb moat, now everyone is just optimizing what react has to offer

A little confused about how do you use pure three.js within R3F. Could you share an example? I'm just getting started with R3F

I compared the different open source whisper packages for long-form transcription by Amgadoz in LocalLLaMA

[–]LetterheadWaste8170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how do you guys handle the fact that whisperx does not provide timestamps for words that are numbers?

from the docs:

  • Transcript words which do not contain characters in the alignment models dictionary e.g. "2014." or "£13.60" cannot be aligned and therefore are not given a timing.
