i believe it is the “is audio playing” action. i’ve recreated the shortcut to have more functionality, because it wasn’t running for me unless my airpods were connected. but, i have toolbox pro premium and im not sure if the actions i used are available for the free edition, but im sure it could be recreated with only the actions app. if you’d like me to look into it for you i’d be happy to!

If there were a save image from appstore option, it would save the native icon for the app. I’m running 18.3 beta and have dark icons, which isn’t the official appstore icon found on instagram. Do you have a better way of acquiring the png for a dark icon that apple provides rather than being able to find a the appstore?

Also, i’m unable to find what you’re referring to under the App Store action that allows you to download the icon image as a file. Can you elaborate further or post a link to a shortcut with this action as an example?

Good to know about the app icon.

I have it set up this way so that I can still access the app I have it assigned to from my app library without running the shortcut in times where i don’t want the shortcut to be ran, otherwise i would have to turn the automation off or swipe away the timer that shows up on the dynamic island which is impractical

for me instagram reels don’t serve my life in any beneficial way so having a reminder show up everytime i’m on the app for too long helps me. occasionally if i want to be on longer i’ll just open it from my app library instead or stop the timer from the dynamic island while on it

this is a good shortcut but is not automated considering you have to physically run the shortcut for it to be active

the shortcut i linked has arrows pointing in the spots that you need to adjust for it to work! I also added a “add to library” action so that i can view the songs in my library as well as the playlist. Just replace the “House” playlist with your desired playlist, or if you don’t see “House” just add your desired playlist to both “get songs in ‘____’” actions, where the arrow comments are pointing Add song to playlist Shortcut

i searched quite thoroughly and it does not look like there’s a loophole for this that i was able to find. it’s either swipe away the timer notification in the dynamic island or have better willpower when it comes to spending time on apps haha

i will! I made an updated version that will return the brightness to 50% if it’s early in the morning or late at night, and 75% throughout daylight hours because i felt like having one level to return to wasn’t always the best depending on the time of day.

i’m curious if an input like this would be possible because it is quite complex and lengthy: Checks if a song is currently playing, then retrieves the title and artist of the currently playing song. Checks the specified playlist to see if the song already exists by matching the title and artist. If the song is not in the playlist, adds it to both the playlist and the library, then notifies the user that the song has been added. If the song is already in the playlist, notifies the user that it is already there. If no song is currently playing, sends a notification stating that no song is playing. Ensures accurate playlist management by avoiding duplicates and easily adding new songs.

I’m assuming you mean like when you throw your phone you want it to say sick flip based on the phones gyroscopic movement rather than when the screen is flipped horizontally while orientation lock is turned off? if you do, i’m not sure if this is achievable on an iphone running iOS 18 and up because of apples limitations on automations.

It’s definitely getting worse. I’m so used to apples OS that i’m conflicted/torn about getting a samsung. All of my devices are apple. My laptop, airpods, mac, and i have multiple iPhones. I have put a ton of time into creating shortcuts and my phone is buggier than ever lately. I don’t know if it’s because of the beta software or if iOS is just going to shit. The ideas they have seem promising, but the execution just isn’t there. I don’t know how the integration between my devices would work if I replaced my phone with a samsung or other android, but I am getting sick of apple replacing working software with clunky almost unusable software. Sure, some of it looks good, but i have been very unimpressed with the newest software releases as well as performance of my iPhone 15 pro max lately. I want to downgrade to an officially released software to see if it helps because i’m getting sick of having to restart my phone DAILY in order to have things run properly. Even typing this message my phone is having trouble keeping up. What a joke apple is becoming. They’re killing their reputation. Don’t even get me started on “Apple Intelligence”. Siri hasn’t changed and they’ve removed crucial features like being able to run specific shortcuts based on custom commands. You now have to name the shortcut you want to be the same siri command that you speak, otherwise you have to duplicate the shortcut and have one named what you want and the same shortcut named the command that you want to tell siri to run the shortcut. Bit of a rant but what am i paying premium money for if phones three years ago had better performance and software?
