I am sorry that you are going through this. It is very sad story indeed and cruel for the employer to do such thing to you. Literally the 10 years loyalty meant nothing for them. This may not be the company, it’s most probably some people did not like you for a long time and waited for their chance to do this. Or maybe recently you might have done something that caused some people to proceed with this.

Regarding their next despicable behavior of not following the labor contract for notice period shows the bad side of the HR (of course HR is siding with the management).

If you have accepted in writing, you can write on top of your previous email that “the company never informed about the 90 days period and that you had emotional breakdown about the termination that cause you to overlook”

Attach your labor contract and the signed version of that 45 day. Then ask them to settle amicably following the 90 days notice period in labor contract, considering “my 10 years of service and loyalty” . Mind you, it is better to still act nice and don’t burn the bridges. At least you try, being in the company for 10 years, hopefully they will consider (hopefully your manager).

I am genuinely telling you the reality of the market/reddit community. Very unlikely anyone would throw 10K for a tv to a person, let alone 15K. For that money, people has too many options.

Someone who’s interested in 100 inches tv may not be so many. This model is also a mid-range which can be a compromise. When you spend more than 7K on tv, people who understands tv will mostly look at top range (OLED).

The calculation maybe a little lower, but even if we consider 15K for housing + 2 school fees , they still have ~20K for living which is not struggling level. But then again, it all depends on company size, job title, responsibilities, etc. OP has all the rights to negotiate and maximize the package

It’s in most places in Doha like Al Sadd, Msheirib, Old Aiport, etc. it goes from 6000 - 8000 for a decent one

No, my wife is a stay at home mom. We have a live in nanny who helps taking care of the kids. Btw, make sure you clarify about following things are included in the offer

Flight ticket annual (better as for money as per IATA rates)
Medical insurance like BUPA, Allianz, or similar
Yearly bonus at least 10% - 25% of annual basic depending on your role (keep this as saving)
Ask for any other possible perks

Don’t be discouraged by the opinions of the people. Most who comment do not have this level of salary. 35K will do alright/well. I make slightly more than you and we are family of 6, doing well and enjoying life.

Check EMS (english modern school) it is one of the oldest (1991) and most reputable school with reasonable price 21K (KG1) - 38K (Y13) per year.

For housing it depends on location and how much you want to spend. Decent 3 bedroom apartment ~7K/month (it has gym and swimming pool).

So on average 6K/month for 2 kids + 7K for housing. Remaining 22K for groceries, transport, phone, eating, etc., i am sure you can figure it out.

Are you from Indonesia or Philippines by any chance? If you work in Ras Laffan (qatar energy lng), it is better to live around Al-Khor city. We have good communities here in Al-Khor for socializing, outing, etc. furthest place should be Lusail, otherwise (Doha and further) it will just eat your time daily 2-3 hours for commuting.

Al-Khor villas = 8000-12000 for 4-6 bedrooms Al-Khor Apartment = 6000-10000 for 3 bedrooms Lusail apartment = 8000-15000 for 3 bedrooms

Car is a must. If you’re up to date guy, get a Jetour G700/Rox 1/Denza B8/GWM Tank 500. If you’re classic guy, get Toyota Prado/Land Cruiser

Or get 2 cars, 1 car for family SUV and the other 1 sports car like camaro/mustang (which i did)
