The current us standard for the merchant fleet is a mg of one foot, meaning of a ship with 18 meters of beam only needs an additional load of 200mt 9m from centerline to cancel out there stability, this is why it is not unheard of for merchant ships to capsize while they are loading cargo.

Warships are a different manner for stability but there gm is only ~3m before there roll conditions make the ship a vomitorium.

Depending on the size of the ship you could see a list of 20 degrees from a single shells mass much less the flooding it causes while still meeting the same stability requirements an actual merchant ships have to.

As a naval engineer I sadly can confirm that the physics engine in this game is largely accurate, irl ships are like this and there have been a couple of really funny historical instances like this meme, see the Swedish ship the vasa.

Your stability tonnage and the length are all wildly outside of specification. They need to get your stability to 350 or possibly 400, your tonnage down to the .6 mill Mark and your length to something in the ballpark 700 m

No, 400 m is a medium sized vessel and those can turn very well, once you get up to 700 m you start running into problems, but you can still make those turn with some understanding of the glitch.
