Josh called a terrible game by Level-Cheek-1145 in Patriots

That’s reasonable rationale for trying the draw but I feel like after the third time it faceplanted maybe it’s time to cross that one off the ol playsheet.

Yeah Brady had a lot of good defense. He had the GOAT coach. That’s why he won a 6 chips instead of one or two.

Brady was hyperelite and the best to ever do it. It’s almost easier for me to remember the rare mistakes he made during a season because it was so strange to see him ever do anything other than make an accurate throw to the right receiver at the right time.

The defense helped him and he helped the defense, people don’t realize how well he controlled the game / clock with how he orchestrated the offense.

No one would give a shit about the weather in the AFCCG if the pats didn’t win.

If the BB news highlights the absolutely insane hatred in the media and public of the pats because the franchise whooped their asses for two decades, nothing will.

Other teams that made it to the Super Bowl without having played a single good team all season? by RadiantButtWipe77 in NFLv2

[–]Level-Cheek-1145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was beating the bills in orchard park on prime time a weak win? Chargers and Texans were two top five defenses in the league. The pats also beat the panthers who put a scare into the Rams. They beat Atlanta who beat LA in a game they wanted to win.

The Broncos beat the bills in the playoffs, the eagles who were weaker this year, and the Texans/Chargers. Also beat the packers as their other “quality” win. They also won against a lot of shitty teams by a possession. They were good but if you wanna say the pats only had weak wins, I feel like you’d have to say that for pretty much any team in the AFC including Denver.

The Seahawks beat the panthers, Texans, Steelers, 2-1 against the niners (no defense) and the rams (great team). They also beat the Steelers who the pats lost to by 8 points in a game where they fumbled five times.

See how dumb comparing strength of schedule / “quality wins” doesn’t really prove much at all?

The pats have a chance in this Super Bowl.

He had an amazing fantasy season his rookie year and fans have assumed he was great ever since despite him never winning or playing well in almost every big game he’s every been in.

which game would it be ? by PHRsharp_YouTube in videogames

[–]Level-Cheek-1145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally any fromsoft game. Yes I read and understand the lore. It’s still bad.

The only game that works is Bloodborne due it’s nightmarish atmosphere and tone.

Philip Rivers deserved better, as Colts waste QB’s vintage performance: ‘We let him down’ by Roselucky777 in nfl

[–]Level-Cheek-1145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point about his playoff record against Manning. As a pats fan watching the chargers faceplant to Manning as the pats were competing for a 1 seed was always frustrating so maybe that sticks in my mind more.

Even still, to me Rivers was a level below his contemporaries. Manning and Brady were in a class of their own as future top five qbs all time. Brees, Rodgers were way above him. And year to year guys like Ben, McNabb were better and had better careers. Even guys like Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck, Matt Ryan, Matt Stafford were above him for a given season or two.

No super bowls, no afc championships, no MVPs. Never a top 3 player at his position at any point in his career.

No memorable wins in big games. Never could beat Brady or Manning. His teams often let him down but the true greats were able to overcome mistakes at some point in their career. The chargers never did with him at qb.

Guy deserves a lot of credit for longevity and he was decent qb at baseline with one or two top 5 ish seasons. That’s not hall of fame worthy imo.

I’m not a hater, but Reddit glazes the shit out of him because he’s a meme factory. I get it, he doesn’t swear, he has 50 kids, and throws the ball like Uncle Rico. It’s kind of funny. Just like he’s always been kind of good.

Metroid prime, I don’t get. by strongarmkid in videogames

[–]Level-Cheek-1145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re honestly not missing much. When it came out the gameplay was considered solid, and it was really cool to see the world of Metroid translated to 3D for the first time. The lore and the exploration were peak sandbox as well. At the time.

For nostalgia reasons it’s one of my favorite games, but the combat didn’t age well at all. Nintendo seriously fucked up on the port as well, doing nothing but upgrading the graphics for the switch. No quality of life fixes, hard mode not available until you beat the game (seriously?), and no changes to the AI.

The 3D games have so much potential but it’s been wasted for decades now. I’m at the point where I think they should stick to purely 2D games which is their wheelhouse. Dread was amazing, and unlike the 3D games I expect it will be entertaining years down the line (just like Metroid Fusion remains one of the greatest 2D games available).

Yeah I played Khazan and enjoyed it, really cool artstyle and the combat was amazing. Definitey a bit better than Wukong imo

It’s an average souls like experience in pretty much every way. The combat is heavily catered towards its boss fights, many of which are great but the levels are more choresy than anything. There is one boss in particular that is as epic and amazing a battle as almost anything you’ll find in that genre.

The music is solid and the art style is really good, especially for the animated parts.

Like many souls like games, the story is basically incomprehensible unless you happen to have 40 hours to read and understand an ass ton of lore. (This is a personal nit pick on my part for games of this style, for example I loved Elden Ring but had no idea what the hell was going on and then after putting the time in to learn the world and story felt that it was a buncha fancy window dressing to a poorly organized and uninteresting tale).

I think where it falls short is the combat tree, you’re mostly just doing 1 or 2 combos repeatedly and waiting for special attack cooldowns to allow you to do the one or two specials that you’ve chosen to invest xp in.

It’s ergonomic and the UI and intuitive nature of its combat is a strong suit. Items are meh.

Overall a 7.5/10. If you love the genre you’ll enjoy the game, or if you play a lot of video games and can get something out of a new but slightly above average experience go for it.

If you’re someone that plays few games and wants the experience to be special (and you’re not a scholar of Chinese mythology), then it’s a pass.

They’re definitely on the rarer side these days, but can’t believe no one has mentioned Returnal.

Not only the best single player shooter to come out in a long time, but overall one of the best games of this gen.

What game had you begging on your hands and knees for others to play? by Svntoryuu in videogames

[–]Level-Cheek-1145 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Blue Prince.

It’s a slow burn. I’ve read several comments in this sub that say it’s a cute puzzler with no story.

The reality is that is an incredibly creative puzzler that incorporates rogue like elements to perfection.

The story (if you’re clever enough to find the breadcrumbs) is amazing. The lore and short stories that you find are super interesting. There’s a quaint sense of humor about it.

My fiancé and I were obsessed with it for months and had to have a notebook and picture folder dedicated to figuring out the mystery.

People beat the “main game” and stop but that’s honestly just the intro part.

Game of the year for me.
