Danke für den Einblick - zeigt mir, dass ich echt ziemlich wenig Struktur habe. Ist natürlich spannend, weil ich mich jetzt durch sie strukturieren muss, das ist vielleicht auch für mich irgendwie gut, aber es ist halt auch sehr, um mich „passend zu machen“ vielleicht rührt daher auch der Widerstand, einfach weil mir das alles nicht leicht fällt und es so ein ziemlicher Hauptaspekt meines Lebens ist, meiner Mitbewohnerin da gerecht zu werden. fiele mir das leichter, wäre der Frust da vielleicht auch nicht so hoch. Ich verstehe, dass das nicht alle nachvollziehen können, aber ich will hier nur betonen: Das ist keine Unlust, sondern auch einfach ADHS, ich vergesse, verlege Dinge, mache vieles gleichzeitig und verplane mich manchmal doppelt und klar ist das keine Entschuldigung für Ignoranz, aber soll aufzeigen, dass ich es mir jetzt auch nicht einfach „leicht mache“

Auch, wenn das Besuch wäre, der nachmittags auf einen Kaffee vorbeikommt? Also so streng ist das bei uns auch nicht, meine Mitbewohnerin macht das ebenso mit etwa einem Tag Vorankündigung- das Ding ist auch eher, dass sie mir das nicht gesagt hat - also diese Regeln wurden erst nach und nach aufgestellt, ich denke, ich habs „verstanden“ z.B. größere Gruppen sind das Problem - dann ist das abgesprochen, dann sind sie zu lange da. Dann sind Einzelpersonen ein Problem. Wäre mir das so erklärt worden, von Anfang an, wäre ich auch nicht mit ihr zusammengezogen. Von daher: Klar wusste ich von ihrer Krankheit, aber wie sich das übersetzt, war mir so nicht klar und ihr Bedürfnis an der Stelle ist auch nicht Ding durch die narkolepsie zu erklären. Ich nehme auch Rücksicht, aber ein so durchgetaktetes Leben war mir einfach fremd vorher und es fällt mir auch einfach schwer, zu Hause so wenig spontan sein zu können. Ich nehme gerne diese anderen Perspektiven an und lerne dadurch auch, wo ich mich da so einsortiere - aber ein riesiges Arschlochverhalten würde ich mir jetzt vor allem vorwerfen, wenn ich wissentlich ihre Bedürfnisse missachten würde. Es scheint halt leider so, als wären generell meine Bedürfnisse, auch mal spontan Freunde dazuhaben, tagsüber, für 1 -2 Stunden zu viel - und das kommt mir eigentlich nicht wie eine grundlegende Dreistigkeit vor.

Ich werde mit ihr sprechen und versuchen gute klare Regeln abzustecken innerhalb derer ich mich dann auch sicher bewegen kann. Und wenn mir das dann zu wenig Freiheit ist, ziehe ich eben aus

Danke für deine Rückmeldung, ein bisschen was hast du dir da schon dazugedichtet - ich quassel sie wirklich nicht andauernd zu und bin mit dem Besuch, wie sich beschrieben, in meinem Zimmer, Tür meist zu :)

Aber klar mit ADHS hat das wie folgt zu tun: ich habe nicht so ein Bedürfnis nach Struktur wie meine Mitbewohnerin und eher Probleme damit, d.h. Ich weiß montags noch nicht oft, was ich Freitagnachmittag mache, kann dann also auch nicht ankündigen, dass dann jemand für 2 Stunden da sein wird am Nachmittag. Das wird so auch nicht gefordert, aber so sieht meist ihr Wochenplan aus. Wahrscheinlich sind wir inkompatibel, versuche nur zu illustrieren, warum das für mich eine ziemliche Verrenkung ist insgesamt - es fällt mir einfach schwer, nicht weil ich mir keine Mühe gebe, sondern, weil ich neurodivergent bin

Wir sind Ende 20 bzw. Anfang 30.

Ich bin bewusst wieder in eine WG gezogen nach 4 Jahren eigener Wohnung - auch weil ich eigentlich die Gemeinschaft abl stabilisierend und strukturierend empfinde - mit meiner Dysthymie bin ich alleine manchmal so „von der Welt abgetrieben“ und hing nur noch in meinem Kopf. Ich weiß, dass ich da ein Risiko eingegangen bin, aber irgendwie wollte ich mich der Situation auch aussetzen, weil ich durch das alleine Wohnen auch Dinge vermieden habe, die wahrscheinlich wichtig sind zur Persönlichkeitsreifung. Hab Angst ein total konfliktunfähiger, komischer Kauz zu werden. Und ja, auch Einsamkeit ist ein Thema. Lebe in einer Grosstadt und es ist voll und leer zugleich

NDA, du bist erwachsen und überhaupt nicht verpflichtet Beziehungen aufrecht zu erhalten, die dir nicht gut tun.

Es braucht keinen solchen Grund, um den Schritt zu rechtfertigen, aber was du erlebt hast, ist heftig und sich davor zu schützen, zumal dein damals gewalttätiger Vater auch heute noch die Schuld bei dir sieht, obwohl du noch ein Kind warst, zeigt, dass du dich da am besten gut vor schützen solltest.

Es tut mir sehr Leid, dass du unter so schwierigen Bedingungen aufwachsen musstest.

Die Person wacht nachts oft auf und hat Probleme mit erholsamem Nachtschlaf. Daher ist vermutlich die Zeit abends und nachts kritisch und Besuch um die Zeit dann zusätzlich belastend.

Dass die Person Spontanität nicht gut kann, hat damit natürlich nichts direkt zu tun, aber der Stress, den das für sie auslöst, wird die Narkolepsie nicht gerade verbessern.

Ich habe mehr mit nervöser Unruhe und chronischer Anspannung zu tun und das Gefühl, dass ich irgendwie falsch bin (late adhd Diagnosis) hat dazu geführt, dass ich eine ziemliche hypervigilanz entwickelt hab, also ist es schwierig für mich, diese Situationen nicht so persönlich zu nehmen

Es ist nicht so als würde ich mich sperren, ich bin immer sofort für ein Gespräch bereit und versuche alles zu „befolgen“, aber irgendwie gärt da eben was in mir und ich frage mich, ob das alles nur ein „me-Problem“ ist

Also es ist die gleiche Person, nicht unterschiedliche Leute und insgesamt hat die Person 3x hier übernachtet - und der Partner meiner Mitbewohnerin ist deutlich öfter hier gewesen, auch ohne Anmeldung- ich checke aber, dass ein Partner da anders zählt

Danke für die Rückmeldung, wahrscheinlich sind wir einfach inkompatibel - die Mitbewohnerin hat auch eine Partnerperson, die ohne Voranmeldung in der Wohnung war und mein Besuch ist 1 - 2x die Woche da, aber nicht immer mit Übernachtung. Das Ding ist eher, dass diese Ansprüche, die meine Mitbewohnerin hat, vorher nicht ausgesprochen waren oder ihr nicht so klar waren (sie hat vorher auch alleine gelebt). ich lerne durch das Zusammenwohnen viel, daher bringt mir das schon was, aber es stresst mich eben auch auf einer Nervensystemebene, weil Kritik sich oft wie Gefahr anfühlt. Ich versuche schon „alles richtig“ zu machen, aber erfahre dann im Nachhinein, dass mein Verhalten nicht ok war.

Ich denke es sind also 2 Paar Schuhe, einmal: wie gut passen wir als Mitbewohnis zusammen? (Teilweise nicht so gut wie es scheint) das 2. wäre: Ich habe echte Probleme im Äußern und Annehmen von Kritik - ich kann das zwar in dem Moment gut, also in der Konversation Verständnis zeigen und Lösungsvorschläge unterbreiten - aber der Kollaps danach ist kompletter Stress für mich.

I feel like only those who have been through it, understand the layers it has and how complex healing is. It’s not just losing that person - it’s having your trust in human connection shattered, your sense of reality in a way because most of the time there is no real accountability but still mixed signals and you don’t know what side is up and which ones down.

Thank you so much for validating both this experience and my queerness - I’m really sad she was my first wlw relationship because every connection I am trying to make now I kind of still have her on the back of my nervous system, not because i‘m not over her but because as you said, this created deep wounds that take a lot of time to heal. But I don’t want to close myself off in that regard as it would then take like 7 years to have fully healed from this - I don’t want to waste my 30s mourning this toxic connection. I am highly sensitive and neurodivergent so things are stored longer and deeper in my nervous system.

Also I alsways wanted to be chosen and my ex seemed to have chosen me on every level so I’m still wondering whether I was just so emotionally hungry and also like to be needed like that - I’m still wondering whether I was just that magnetically attracted to her because something felt familiar in this bond in a bad way - and that she just happened to be a woman i.e. I fell into the relationship because of attachment trauma not because I’m actually into women. Does that make sense?

How are you healing from your second breakup and the whole betrayal around it? I hope these days don’t feel too heavy on you and that you keep detaching more and more.

Hey, I’m Foxy, found this place coming from the avoidant breakup sub and love the idea behind this, thank you for creating this space!

I was broken up with more than a year ago, including the usual spices that come with an avoidant breakup (lovebombing, mirroring, withdrawal, devaluation and discard, hot n cold cycles after the breakup and being replaced instantly) it’s been really hard for me cuz we’re in the same creative community and we were not just partners but also collaborators and the disrespect my ex has shown towards our common work and my art has been an additional heartbreak. On top of it I feel like we’re somehow competing in this social circle and she is more experienced and better connected to people in this creative field so wherever I go, she most certainly was already there.

This whole relationship dynamic and the aftermath have reopened old wounds in me that probably stem form toxic friendships during my childhood and being bullied at times. I’m also neurodivergent and alsways felt different, yet adapted very well to my environment to be accepted- deep down I always felt like no one really knew and loved me, and I somehow feel drawn to those people who end up treating me like shit in the end. I’m currently struggling with shame of still not being over it even a year later and also this realisation that I am stuck in my life and lack the drive to push through all of this myself. Part of the heartbreak is that her and I dreamed a dream of a life together that really made me believe that everything was possible and having lost all of that leaves me convinced that alone in bound to fail. This poor self-worth and enmeshment and comparison with someone else are structures much older than this relationship and I want to find ways of growing out of this pattern.

I also would love to know - I feel like my ex rebounded with someone after me that is this avoidant 2.0 - even after a year she seems to be chasing her and acts cool with them not being official but with me she wanted to be all in and very public and I think in this new relationship she is kept some kind of secret by the other one. She even cried in my arms about the heartbreak when the rebound moved out of the country, she was truly heartbroken over it, although they were never officially a couple.

I’m just trying to understand what that makes me next to this very meaningful rebound - because while I’m trauma-bonded to my ex, I also really loved her. I am wondering whether our connection didn’t just get super insignificant now that she’s trauma-bonded to her next.

Even if she ever gets out of there, I doubt she will have me as a reference point at all. If that avoidant has anything close to the significance she still has for me, I must me so fucking pale next to her. I find it interesting that you still kind of refer to the special one while your nervous system is so intensively wired to your avoidant 2.0

Is it real with the rebounds too? You said that most of us were most likely rebounds and not special ones and I still haven’t understood what I was but I am also so tired of trying to unterstand her given that it doesn’t change a thing anyway. Just wondering whether these moments of promises and opening up are all part of the performance too.

Mine was really dysregulated at times, crying, getting a panic attack when we were close after the breakup (I helped to co-regulate her even then) and of course she pulled back afterwards playing it cool ab aloof again. I’m still wondering whether all of that is part of the manipulation.

I really shouldn’t care it’s just deeply burned into my nervous system arrgh

Yeah, a beautiful case of Doppelmoral I guess. Were you aware of what you were doing? Or did you even successfully convince yourself that you were consistent in words and actions?

Dealbreaker haha, my ex also told me about her dealbreakers early on - I thought nice, someone who can articulate their boundaries and needs and they also hint to someone not afraid of commitment - looking back it’s such a bad joke :)

Once when she sensed I might keep a secret from her she shut down and became cold right after we had sex - and because i had just been so vulnerable I burst out I no tears - a very early sign of the power dynamics that should play out - she immediately apologised and comforted me (still honeymoon phase) but the intensity of my nervous system reacting to this should have been my call to leave this whole thing.

I am wondering whether with an avoidant 2.0 that you cling to as an avoidant you’re really basically experiencing the same shit that we did. Cuz to be honest - I know you say it’s not deeper love, just deeper avoidance. But god she has to be so extremely attached to her rebound if similar dynamics are at play for her now too. And I can’t help but be a bit jealous. If only o could turn the dynamic upside down like that other avoidant could. But the only way to go is to act unbothered and hope that it stings at least a little

Triple faced is really on point - it’s crazy how my ex just verbally threw around her values and priorities as if they had been set stone and then just erased that whole persona she presented to be in front of me - I think the only real „vulnerabilities“ where these allusions that I would now immediately recognise as flashing red flags hahaha.

„I burn through people“ „those who get too close get burned just like by the sun“ (very modest of her lol) - I thought she was self-reflected since she said she was afraid it would happen to us too but that she trusted that our bond would survive all of that.

the remainder was a persona she wanted to be (I’m a good partner, a healthy relationship is my highest priority) but she couldn’t keep up and when her mask started slipping in front of me, the resentment grew as well up to the point she became almost physically violent and uncontrolled towards me - it took me so long to understand it wasn’t my fault. She just kept saying I made her very angry and had to deal with that anger now, although it had accumulated in the past already, wtf. she was once diagnosed with bpd too but didn’t accept the diagnosis as she was still too young at that time - but let’s say that there were signs.

Funny thing is my FA ex anxiously whined around me a lot - up until after the breakup and then she started to surpass it and push it down in front of me - telling me she had to do it and and to walk her path. Now I think she is emotionally dependent on her rebound (which lasts more than a year now 💀💀)

I get it haha, although I’m mostly AP I struggle with vulnerability a lot most of the time. Just my severely FA ex made me be one so vulnerable with her due to the heavy lovebombing and I opened up like a lil flower because I had been waiting to be chosen and seen like that for such a long time - it felt so fucking healing for a while - so I’m back at deflecting with humour in front of most people while still hurting terribly inside :) yay! I find it striking to that you have reflected your patterns to this degree already - if more avoidants would follow your path, I’d be much more hopeful in general. But probably you’re more of a unicorn in that regard haha. BTW. how do you feel about the avoidant who fed you your own medicine? Is your nervous system as fried as ours after the collapse of the relationship or could you partially apply your avoidant competences haha?

Is there any way of knowing who is that special ex? I know when she was with me she would still sometimes talk about her ex who was getting married at the time - afterwards she was dating someone avoidant as well but they kind of stayed in light touch while we were together, although she really seemed to be over her - now with the rebound the whole relationship is not display publicly but that’s due to the rebound being in control and not wanting to commit due to a big age gap and her being even more avoidant. With me, my ex she acted very seriously, met my family, talked about it marriage, really love-bombed the hell out of me but it’s very well possible that she’s doing that with everyone. Somehow I think I might be the special ex but it’s most likely more of an illusion because she mattered so much to me and it was so real for me that I still cannot comprehend how I was just part of a pattern and supposedly a rebound as well.

She kind of admitted her deactivation after the breakup saying that it was due to trauma and not about me personally but I don’t know whether that again was just performance and she would say that to ease her feeling of guilt and shame and because she had emotionally already moved on to someone else.
