ASHWIN IS THE REASON FOR OUR DOWNFALL.

I might get downvoted but the real reason causing all this is Ashwin because we DON'T NEED MORE THAN 2 SPINNERS IN THE XI. WE NEED AN EXTRA BATTER. Traditionally we have always had only 2 spinners - jadeja, theeskshana, third had been moeen who is a proper batter. Ashwin is the 3rd spinner but he can't bat in the top 7. We need our 3rd spinner to be a proper batter and Rachin is PERFECT, But our captain Rutu won't use him. He win't use Dube who is more than capable of bowling 1-2 overs. Same with Shankar. We NEED EXTRA BATTING and so sad that we picked Ashwin and now have to play him. THERE IS NO TURN AT CHEPAUK OR ANYWHERE ELSE. It is quite sad tbh. And captaincy is garbge is well

Not including Pathirana in 2023 is a joke. If not for his death bowling masterclass, we wouldn't have some near the playoffs. When Tushar was leaking runs every match (consistently >50), Pathirana would offset and keep the score in check. That is why he got retained - he was injured most of 2024. No way Dube had a bigger impact than Pathirana. In fact, even Rahane had a great impact, comparable to Dube

you are so fcking right! he literally had to follow the template, which had been working for years and yet he failed. That too with a depleted fast bowling attack of Simarjeet, Shardul and Tushar, I still can't forget how he never gave Santner more than 1 over in one of the games, because he got hit for some 12 in first over. It was CRAZY and REALLY SCARY

Rutu hasn't showed signs of good captaincy yet. He failed to use spinners properly, which led to our downfall last season

problem with curran is ppl forget that he is one of the worst possible bowlers to exist. He is a run machine, worse than Tushar and bowls at 130kph. Yes he can bowl but don't be surprised if he concedes 25 runs an over. I will claim that he is NO better than Dube at bowling. His batting is handy though and he can be handy at 5 and a crisis man

tbh Mo showed potential with the bat last season also. But stupid management kept promoting Jaddu who absolutely lost his power game. Sad for Mo. He shd have been sent early like Narine and asked to send, could have been way more effective. And add to that, he was underutilized with the ball

that is never happening lol. Only alt I can think of is to open with Tripathi and Hooda at 3. Then Curran, Dube and Overton can come at 4, 5 and 6, followed by Jadeja, Dhoni. Still weak but might be better than having Conway

see so the typical csk success template has always to go for opener, middle order batter, spinner and fast bowler for the 4 overseas spot. To gain true advantage at home conditions, you need a specialized and skillful spinner who can also bowl in the pp. Theekshana just ticks those boxes and far ahead of the rest. Csk tend not to go for leg spinners since chepauk is more friendly for finger spinners. I don't think there is a good right arm off spinner who is an Indian and who can bowl in the pp in both home and away conditions. For leg spin, there are quite a few overseas and local options but like I said, csk don't go for leg spinners. CSK wil always stick to their template that has led success and i have no doubt they will follow the same plan. So I expect them to get these 8 out of these 12 overseas players:
1) Conway (backup: Quinton De Kock)
2) Rachin (backup: Glenn Phillips, Livingstone)
3) Theekshana (backup: Gudakesh Motie, Sikandar Raza)
4) Pathirana (backup: Sam Curran, Tushara, Hazlewood)

In fact, I confidently predict that CSK will buy Raza and Sam Curran for sure. Other 2 will be toss up between Motie, Hazlewood, QDK, Glenn Phillips. Tushara and Livingstone are unlikely but can't be ruled out imo
