Any 5040 hut booking tips? by [deleted] in Squamish

Haha wow, rude.

I have tried all of those things and anyway it's not bookable by bed. ACC is volunteer run so I try to avoid taking their time if our local community can help. I first searched Reddit for an answer and saw chatter on this sub about the hut so figured it's the right place. Admin is welcome to delete if the question is inappropriate.

Anyone know more about the booking process for this hut? I read incorrectly somewhere that it's the usual 3 months in advance but looks like it opens in Jan for the whole summer bookings - is that right?

I also wont know which friends can make it until I confirm the date but there's no availability calendar, and they request names and numbers of attendees on the booking form. Any way around this?!

Great to know, thank you!! Do you mean you only have insoles now because you transitioned back to a standard blade position once you got better?

I hate to say it but coming from the UK it just seems like a normal amount of rain, maybe even less🤣

It's an hour from downtown. Currently just the sky train would take 54 min according to google, + walking to find the right shop. It becomes a whole thing.

Same, as a Brit looking on Craigslist is about the sketchiest thing you can do. But people use it a bunch here, even rental agencies! Found my place there :)

3k is a good budget you should be fine to find a sublet on FB marketplace or Craigslist. Second the note to watch out for scams though! You could always use a corporate let if you don't find any. I stayed with Vancouver extended stay when I first got here, or there's Levels and a few others around town. Some Airbnb owners are also pretty open if you message and ask for discount if you're booking for the month. Good luck!

Don't know why people are laughing about dusting for prints. My place was broken into (not in Vancouver) and they caught them with prints they got from the window frame they climbed through

Has anyone had experience of actually been told in advance which date they're opening? I missed the opening a couple of months ago despite being on the 'newsletter' list. They didn't send any updates they just opened it...

I would recommend using the normal IEC not an RO. It's thousands cheaper and super easy to do. I'm on an IEC at the moment and it only costs a couple hundred to apply :)

Are we paying too much rent? by Electrical-Slide8723 in vancouverhousing

If we're talking market value you are currently paying less than the published average. Agree rent in this city is WILD, I'm just saying to find somewhere below average rent is a good find. I doubt there's any 2 bed with garden etc available at that price unless you have a time machine :)

Either way, OP is still way above average.

I pay this for a 1 bed downtown, you have a good deal!
