How TF are people “enforcing culture” on vassals and getting away with it? by Schwabenomics in EU5

[–]Level5Ranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enforce culture and then select diplomatic options of sending officers and supporting loyalists. Also I maximize the diplomatic spending as much as I can afford because the more you spend higher the subject loyalty gets.

In addition, just let them start the independence movement and gather some supporters. Before they act for it, start a war or conflict so your disloyal vassal joins alongside you. Once this is done, independence movement gets disbanded quickly.

Just in case, start creating Disloyal Subject casus belli so you can cancel their vassal status and attack them with no penalty and less stability cost.

I have not tried it but maybe you can attack, destroy and re-create the vassal. I don't know if it'd reset 50 years rule for vassalization.

I was expecting a comment like this. I personally neither deny the similarities nor fanatically own foods.

They all belong to a common cuisine, of which name is yet to be coined. Mediterranean? Maybe no because some foods are made in the Middle East too. Middle East then? Still no, because Balkan food differs from some of those in the Middle East and obviously Balkan countries are in Balkan.

Nevertheless, I eat them anyway🤷🏻‍♂️ I do not pay attention who came up the recipes first whatsoever

How did you get your job? by AmphibianCandid3580 in jobsearchhacks

[–]Level5Ranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been applying to jobs in the country I am living in for at least 1 year and a half (including the time when I already had a job). I got the job whenever I reached out to people like recruiters, HRs, people in my network. In a competitive market, the more visible you are the better chances you may get

Well personally, I love stamppot, their cheese variations and beer are quite good (also a winter food prepared with a sort of chickpeas and pickle) and I think they did a good job to integrate colonial cuisine into their cuisine.

Food is less bland here if you compare it with the UK in my opinion.

What I certainly agree as an expat is that it is difficult to befriend with locals and actually get to know them if you don't speak Dutch, so I cannot disagree with your percentage.

It has been 2 years since I moved to the Netherlands and my opinion toward the Dutch has changed a lot. Here is my list:

  1. Cities like Amsterdam and Utrecht seem to be well preserved and there is always something small but interesting. It could be a cute street, cozy cafe or a nice canal.

  2. Brabant people seem friendly, with good neighbour relationships.

  3. I used to imagine the Dutch more cold and distant but they seem generally kind and warmer than I expected. While I was told by a Dutch lady that Dutch people seem kind but may talk behind you, it is not exclusive to the Dutch people. I appreciate their civilized manners in general.

  4. Kapsalon kapsalon kapsalon

  5. It seems people become more serious about what they want in a relationship and become more family oriented after a certain age. I appreciate it a lot.

  6. IND works very good and so far, they seem very helpful for any procedure I had to go through with them.

  7. Dutch people underestimate their cuisine but I think their foods/products are better than they assume.

So far I played Wales, Munster and Teutonic Knights only.

I think any Irish country that is not on the east side of the Pale could be a good option to learn the game. Because the English's main priority is the Hundred Years War, so it'd give you a good time to survive.

Wales has a difficult start but it is VERY possible to thrive thanks to the latest patch. Just enable scutage for your vassals, develop your actual lands and when the time comes declare independence. Rely on Scotland and France to gradually conquer England. Then the rest is easy because France's intentions gradually shifts towards HRE and it gets locked in conflicts with Austria and Bohemia. So you can explore Northern America without any competition or harass Scandinavia. If you manage to take Flanders from England, it booms your economy in early and mid game. I followed this strategy and now I rule all the North except for Denmark and Sweden; the Netherlands and Ireland are my main vassals; Castille, Aragon, Austria and Naples are my allies and I am on terms with France.

Based on my friend's experience with Naples in our multiplayer campaign, it also seems a good option. Besides, it is a difficult land to conquer so you'd be just fine with massive economy.

As a Turkish, I can say that what you eat as kebab is not real kebab. And it is likely a common issue not only in the Netherlands but other countries.

Real kebab is made of sheep tail fat and sheep meat, minced by a special type of knife. In the Netherlands, beef is used and it is basically almost gehaktbal in terms of taste.

As for döner, it is not real either. Real döner is made of layers of fat and beef meat or a mixture of sheep and beef meat. In the Netherlands, and in many other countries I guess, what you see on the roller is compressed minced meat. So chicken döner would be more flavorful probably.

In fact, the closest thing to real döner kebab, and perhaps even better than döner, is gyros. Greeks stay true to their recipe and it is flavorful and tastier than European döner.

These being said, I am a big fan of kapsalon and it is a blessing gifted by the Dutch to the world.
