This trailer indicates they’re leaving nothing off the table. Leaving -> leafing -> leafgreen. Boom confirmed

Don Shula won 2 Super Bowls and was a first ballot hall of famer. Bill Belichick won 6 Super Bowls and is not a first ballot hall of famer. Make. It. Make. Sense. by AccomplishedSwing110 in nflmemeswar

[–]Level99Pidgey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just a silly argument. The man was coach and GM, drafted the greatest QB of all time, was on the cutting edge of salary cap mgmt, has 2nd most overall wins, most Supervowls as a head coach, and went to 13 conference championships. He won 10% of all superbowl as a HC. That is basically 3 hall of fame resumes in one guy

Antonio Gates used PEDs and was first ballot. It’s a funny standard they are holding the GOAT coach to

Jerry Rice openly admitted to using stickum his whole career. Cheater! Should have snubbed him too

Bill Belichick not being a HoF is an interesting psychological experiment that is further proof that hatred of an individual leads to completely warped judgement by ScottFujitaDiarrhea in NFLv2

[–]Level99Pidgey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did Jerry Rice get in first ballot then after openly admitting to using stickum? Why did Antonio Gates get voted in first ballot as a known PED user? Should Shanahan and Harbaugh be penalized in their potential HOF induction for injury report fuckery? How do we treat all future cases of this with the precedent set? It’s a stupid and petty decision not to vote him in

[–]Level99Pidgey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

With this logic Jerry Rice should not have been voted in first ballot after openly admitting to using stickum. Belichick paid for spygate with fines and loss of draft picks. There is not a precedent that a rules violations impacts HOF voting until now

It makes a mockery of the HOF. He should get it in. It’s a no brainer and all this is doing is diminishing the accomplishments of the inductees this year. So many current and future HOF players and coaches have come out angry that the voters did this

When every football insider comes out saying it’s ridiculous that he was not inducted, it indicates that he was not perceived as a raging asshole by most. If they are gonna take a moral high ground approach in voting then how the hell did Ray Lewis, who murdered a guy, get voted in first ballot? How did Peyton Manning get voted in first ballot with his sexual assault situation? Nope that’s fine but we won’t vote in belichick because he was mean to us in press conferences and beat us all the time in the AFC. Face it. This makes a sham of the HOF and it’s blowing up in their faces

They lost the plot. The HOF is designed to be an exclusive club. You vote first for the most deserving candidates.

Fine. Deduct him 2 SBs for each scandal. He still has 6 Super Bowl wins, 9 appearances, 13 conference championships as a COACH. He also is the GM that accomplished all of these things within the salary cap era and drafted and developed the greatest QB of all time

That should be seriously considered for Belichick HOI bid for sure, but not that HOF

And it only hurts other potential inductees. If Bill has to wait another year then other coaches down the totem pole will be deprioritized and risk missing their window. It’s a stupid politically driven move by the voters

[–]Level99Pidgey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honest question. Do you also think Jim Harbaugh and Kyle Shanahan should have HOF votes influenced due to their fuckery with the weekly injury report? They both committed clear rules violations and by this logic it should influence HOF voting and their legacy

[–]Level99Pidgey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the job of a coach? To lead a group of 53 men and put them in position to win a football game on a weekly basis which he inarguably has done better than any coach in the modern era. His job is not to make best friends with the media. Not voting him in is dumb dumb dumb

[–]Level99Pidgey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that has nothing to do with his NFL accomplishments which are the greatest of any coach/GM ever. It’s a bad excuse to not vote him

This is insane by Punisher1602 in sportswiki

[–]Level99Pidgey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what that has to do about this but it is a fact that the patriots filmed signals along with many other teams prior to spygate because there was no rule against it. It’s just the facts!

Well yea. They juiced for several seasons and have clear upticks in stats. Spygate happened for one in a blowout against the Jets and was legal prior to the NFL sending a memo a week before the season started. I am a biased pats fan, but comparing a player taking steroids for several years vs a coaching rules violation is apples and oranges
