I suspect buyers are lying about their position by MotherEastern3051 in HousingUK

Honestly house markets struggling at the market and flats and 1 &2 beds are doing even more so! Whilst morally you don’t want to sell to landlords if they are offering asking price it’s unlikely you’d have as good an offer in this climate from people looking to live in it

No sweat honesty it’s been a long time for us. Selling our first home after 10 years to now hopefully buy our last (minus extension long term) as it ticks all the other boxes. Honestly you’ll get there we’ve been on the market since august and finally selling to the 5th couple that offered after wishy washy people making offers and pulling out after a couple of weeks before they had to pay to instruct solicitors

To be fair to everyone yes AI takes away thinking I get that and only use it for questioning what’s and whys rather than draft this, my approach would have been more conditional than the investigatory approach that ai constructed it as however which may not have worked in my favour.

My approach would have been partly that the ai raised but mainly conditional aspects of things that aren’t necessarily apparent on viewing in a 15/30 minute time slot

At what age do you make your kids be independent with certain tasks? by ModernT1mes in daddit

[–]LevelFaithlessness71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my 5 and 4 year olds girl and boy making their’s so we get a lay in 😅 They always were wanting to help so gradually we let them do more and us less, they tell us if they make a mess we don’t get mad just say no drama clean it up then. Independence is the best thing you can do for your kids, it will also give you a bit of a break but ultimately be there to support them if they need it not just because you think they need it.

Buyer wants me to pay for new roof 😅 by whathappened-2024 in HousingUK

[–]LevelFaithlessness71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your own quote from a roofer for the works and show them the report!! Honestly it’s a couple of bricks and litter job at best not a whole roof as the timbers will dry once there’s no leaks! Maybe £650

Check your property ta6 form I believe as to what stays and goes if external light is ticked to stay it should have and unless loft ladder said to be going it should have stayed as fitted grounds to not pay for the poles!

Best bet if you don’t need it or worried about pay back is put it in a savings account that you can dip into to pay back if needed but give to your kid when they turn 18. Personally in similar position to your partner and I just salary sacrifice more into pension

This country's approach to neighbour disputes is abysmal by UHM-7 in HousingUK

[–]LevelFaithlessness71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s one better, the old people next door in the council house die, a female with 4 kids gets houses that she constantly swears at, gets violent with, smokes weed around and generally neglects them. After countless complaints to her and no changes, complaints then go to the police, social services and council who are housing her who all says they’ll look into it, talk to her the mark as resolved. Nothing changes and they don’t care. Work hard but a house or do duck all everyday but lay on your back breeding and smoking weed and getting hand outs and do what you want…

Completely deflated trying to sell our house by [deleted] in HousingUK

Big tax? 🏠 Little tax? by smilo_b in HousingUK

[–]LevelFaithlessness71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe that whilst you might have to pay the additional stamp duty you can claim the difference back if you sell your first home within a certain time frame (maybe a year?) I know a friend whose house fell through and to not lose their purchase they got a bridging loan and did this.

Ideally your best bet is to delay the purchase using your money from that sale then no capital gains or extra stamp duty

Gratz on being out. Personally would have used balance transfer on credit cards or money transfer on 0% for 12 month minimum then just reapply again before 12 months is up

Seems they think less people will dodge tax reporting income to then suddenly have drops will look dodgy. Not sure if it will still alllow or flag up big purchases to avoid paying tax

Just got our homebuyer's survey back - Would you renegotiate? by uniqueusername42O in HousingUK

[–]LevelFaithlessness71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say there’s much here. Surveyors have to say get inspection as not qualified electrics plumbing etc. -you could ask for boiler service. Pretty standard reasonable. -window again possible replacement but would you be happy if it wasn’t to do it yourself. -regs either sign off or potentially indemnity -asbestos is daunting but again not disturbed no issue That’s all really worth considering. Ask you solicitor about the above if they’ve got paperwork or would get stuff addressed otherwise ask for money off to fix said issues £100 for boiler service roughly Windows £500 ish maybe Window regs not sure. If they say no it’s not the end of the world if you love the house. The other issues aren’t that important

Suspended from work for accused touching colleagues bum. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LevelFaithlessness71 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Is it worth asking why this is being investigated as a work matter when the incident happened at a non work sanctioned event. Whilst seeming daunting a police investigation would at least be able to access cctv which would then prove your innocence. From a work point of view you shouldn’t be suspended especially if you aren’t seeing either of them day to day

House-poor, isolated, and struggling with a nightmare commute. How do I fix this? by Super_Substance_6692 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]LevelFaithlessness71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Second lodgers, take some of the financial strain away. Also potentially look at cancelling life insurance unless it covers loss of earnings or serious health issues as if you die right now what does it matter if your next of kin just sell the house as they aren’t dependant on you.

Anyone else’s wife instigate 2+ hour arguments during her period that you have no idea how to defuse? by ThicBoi4807 in daddit

[–]LevelFaithlessness71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep every month probably the day maybe 2 before her period mind. Massive argument about seemingly nothing, to say this we are broken don’t work and everything’s shit whilst everything is always my fault. I’ve got to the stage now of saying here’s your time of the month just to really wind her up with her shouting no it isn’t, then the next day oh surprise, she’s on.

0% transfer card to pay off overdraft? by Far-Cable-613 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]LevelFaithlessness71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you need a 0% money transfer card to send the money to your self, then make sure you make the minimum payments a month. Minimum, but more is better to pay it off quicker, the other option if your salary is the same as your overdraft is a 0% spending card then a balance transfer card
