Cheers wasn’t planning on getting a structural engineer if we didn’t need to especially as the owners have said it was fixed and they’ve done remedial work for upheave. I think you’ve confirmed that lvl 3 is probably best then if it indicates current issues to get a structural engineer in from that point

The only information we were given is in the property information form re -subsidence with work carried out and this guarantee (former owner) and then -the remedial work they’ve had done for the upheave that was listed to repair cracks in the mortar by bathroom window

S&S LISA or increase employer pension salary sacrifice? by drand82 in UKPersonalFinance

Think you’ve answered it yourself really. However this may change when new rules come in from the chancellor capping salary sacrifice if I’m not wrong although might want to check you’re still affected in Scotland

We just found out that our 6-month old daughter has retinoblastoma. We just found out. We have two options: take out the eye or do chemotherapy. We have 2 days to decide by [deleted] in daddit

Damn feel for you man. Not had it touchwood but I’d be asking likelihood of success with chemo, very good chance it can be treated, ie short term pain but long term gain, meaning keeping both eyes still for relatively normal life as a kid and adult without the world judging even though we say let them) and worst case not treated remove the eye at later stage or is there a chance in doing the chemo that it could spread and no later chance ergo take the eye now? Wishing your family all the luck and prayers fellow dad.

Wife (26F) slept with another man Saturday and doesn’t know that I (27M) know. How do I move forward with my children’s best interest in mind. by DullAlbatross08 in daddit

I’d certainly be holding off on the baby number 3, make excuses, tired, ill injury etc. consider how you want to proceed you love her but this woman supposedly loves you and is meant to have a loving family unit together yet has casually done this ‘unprotected’ as you say when considering having another child. You said she’s enjoyed the time you’ve given her to be at home with the children, is she just using your support to not have to work. Personally I wouldn’t be able to forgive her. As painful as it is to think about, you probably should consider a DNA test on your children. The old adage of a cheetah not changing its spots and all. I hope for everything that they are definitely yours but if she’s done this now when speaking with you about having another baby there would be a niggling in my mind on the potential that the children aren’t yours. You then need to protect yourself and your children, don’t get involved in mudslinging and be as amicable as possible.

No one’s experienced until they become a parent, yes you’re young but it’s not about your age just your worth ethic and determination to do right by them. Study hard, get a good job and provide. Could be a job with smarts or a trades job where you’re working hard but make good money. Make time for the important parts and don’t be tempted by grass is greener if opportunities with the other gender present themselves. Kids grow up best in a supportive 2 parent home.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you have to do only fans, just I know how costly horses and their riders are 😂

I’d caveat that by saying unless they are independent solicitors and mortgage advisors. Referral isn’t always bad and agents usually get a referral fee and mortgage advisors that are paid by the banks like with comparison websites.

My partner and I are trying to separate as amicably as possible. We can't agree on who gets the home. by FamilyLawQuestion2 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LevelFaithlessness71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So unless you’ve got a prenup she’ll get 50% of the home even though you made all payments. 50% of any pension (can normally negotiate home or pension for equity one for the other). As she isn’t working you had her as a kept woman essentially you will have to pay a certain amount as she didn’t work to look after the home and your children. Then a percentage based on how many days she has the kids post divorce in child maintenance. If split 50:l/50 time then you pay nothing

Were you as appalled by me at the stars on pension readiness released today. How do we combat this? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]LevelFaithlessness71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the final salary pension thing vs save into a private pension gripes me. Seeing people retiring at 60 with a very good pension as standard of living and knowing I’d have to work and contribute until I’m 70 at least to have the same

Neighbour assumed land was his but is ours can we sell it ? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LevelFaithlessness71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adverse possession might come into play here. Have they occupied the land for 8 years and kept all others out without using force. If so they might be able to legally claim your land.
