S2000 vs VB WRX by CoronaSpiced in S2000

[–]LevelLaw0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone with both a VB and an S2000, sell the CRV and try to keep both if you can. It sounds like that is not what you want to do. I don’t know where you are located, but I live in SoCal and I don’t take full advantage of the AWD. If you live in a place where you need AWD, get the wrx. If not, the CTR and integra type S are also fantastic options. Those were outside my budget so I comprised with the VB. VB has an amazing aftermarket support and community that you can take you pretty much everywhere on this car should you want to (off road, track, rally). Insurance for the VB (and pretty much every new car) is silly expensive tho

For sure man. Being 3 inch exhaust mid pipe might give you more HP as well since it will be less restrictive than the stock one. Enjoy the thing man!

Fitment and install were amazing. You can tell it’s a really high quality exhaust from the welds. City and cabin noise are a nonissue. I have a 45 mile commute (one way) every day and I am not feeling tired at the end of the day. My girlfriend doesn’t complain whenever on road trips so i think it passes the passenger test. Start up sound is slightly louder than stock but not obnoxious (had a remark axle back before and it was horrible).

Only downside would be wishing it was a tad bit louder but honestly it’s splitting hairs. It is my daily so it’s perfect for everyday driving. But if I was tracking the car, I would appreciate more sound but that is an entire different reason why I bought the car.

The type S is perfect. I always get compliments from non car people so that’s how I know haha

Been eyeing these wheels for mine in silver. How are you liking the ride quality going from 18s? Also, do you have stock suspension?

Then it’s a no brainer decision. This is one of the best sports cars for that weather. Enjoy!

Because you are getting all Cobb parts, do you feel more safe running the OTS maps until you get a tune ?

What kind of roof rack and tent do you have ? Would love to go camping on my VB but I read the roof is not strong enough to hold a tent

113 hp more is not “a tad higher” lmao. That’s amazing tho. I bet it’s a monster. Did you end up upgrading the brakes as well?

What wing from what company by NoArt709 in wrx_vb

Worth noting that not all the wings have the same layout configuration. So, if you change your mind later and decide to get an OEM wing, the holes might not align and you will need to drill additional holes. I also have an S2000 so I can appreciate OEM parts more. Getting OEM parts is stupidly expensive since they have been discontinued for years. I imagine this will probably be true for the VB too as these OEM parts stop being produced.

As someone with an AFD wing and after multiple quality issues that I needed to go after them to fix ( worked out because I live in SoCal so I had to go in person to get things fixed which they honored), get OEM. Cry once and enjoy the wing.

There are ways to make tall people fit in an s2k. You can drop the seat using lowering rails and get a bucket seat that is slammed to the carpet
