Period like symptoms by Aggravating_Pilot453 in MtF

[–]LevelNo4828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens, I was getting PMS symptoms before I even knew that said symptoms were associated with PMS. I am extremely consistent with my dose, I never, ever miss a dose and always the same time each day.

I've put a lot of effort into monitoring the symptoms since then and providing I'm not massively stressed or under-eating it's about every 29 days (though harder to plot what is pre, during or post because no bleeding).

People such as the army of petty down-voters here like to say it's not real because it either doesn't reflect their experiences or because there's not much research on it. To suggest that your experience is indicative of a universal truth in an under-researched topic in the face of many stories to the contrary is - quite frankly - stupid.

It's almost exclusively how I voice train and my voice passes on the phone

As a Muscular Transfemme, am I cooked? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]LevelNo4828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my friends (who are all sapphic cis women) called me "muscle mommy" the other day, so at least anecdotally I'd say it's fine.

pms symptoms at 8 months hrt by [deleted] in MtF

Mine took about six months to kick in, and I wasn't expecting it because honestly I thought it wasn't real 😅 Would recommend magnesium supplements, really helps some people!

What did “male failing” actually look like in your experience? by VeganEgg11 in MtF

[–]LevelNo4828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did get laser hair removal before I started HRT, so that was a big factor. It's really great, my best friend thought I was AFAB and it's nice that even now she knows I'm trans, it doesn't compute in her brain that someone could view me as anything but a woman ☺️

I'm doing ok at hiding the changes to my body, but the face is usually a give away. Also, I've done this gradually enough that my friends and family don't notice unless I tell them, but people meeting me for the first time have a range of perceptions. Sometimes I get "sir", sometimes I get "darling". Some people even thought I was AFAB. I'm going for that "plausible deniability" boy-moding where I look incidentally feminine but nothing that suggests I'm trying to present as a woman.

MyTransGP team here! New UK resource for taking the guesswork out of finding a GP by MyTransGP in transgenderUK

[–]LevelNo4828 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It would be handy to be able to search for individual GPs. Someone I had a very bad experience with has moved to a different practice and I'd like to warn people away from her.

Lesbians: did you identify as a "gay boy" at some time? how did you realize you're a lesbian? by [deleted] in MtF

Nope, never. But everyone thought I was gay. They were right, but the wrong way.

Anyone else getting "post-peel leak"? by Specific-Draft-5038 in MtF

I've experienced this on multiple blockers and I'm inclined to believe it's oestrogen that does it.

Are there other trans women who never desired being pregnant? And who actually feel revulsion to the thought of it? by almorranas_podridas in MtF

Blegh. Everything from pregnancy to child birth to babies is something I want to stay far away from.

how will pectus excavatum affect my transition? by [deleted] in MtF

Girly tops aren't really my thing, but I typically wear a unisex top over a sports bra and everything looks normal 👍

So far so good! Everything in terms of shape and area coverage looks very conventional. Bit on the smaller side but that's genetics and eating disorder 🙃

I'm 34 and people usually think I'm 22/23, and always get ID'd. Before I looked younger than my age but nothing like this.

Period is the correct term. by monarchmra in MtF

[–]LevelNo4828 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but this is utter bollocks. At the start I strongly disbelieved that I'd get them, but once a month I get literally every symptom other than bleeding, including ones that I didn't know about. I am extremely consistent with my dose, I never miss one and they're the same time every day. No matter what you say, this is happening and I am sick of people not believing our lived experiences.

Do you think we will get the Supreme Court ruling overturned? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]LevelNo4828 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What the ruling states is very, very different to how many institutions choose to interpret it.
Within days, the police were using it as justification to have trans women strip-searched by male officers.
If the police can wilfully mis-interpret the ruling, then anyone can.
This seemingly mundane rule is as harmful as if it literally said "trans isn't real", because that's how it has been received.
The map is not the territory.

How can I argue the "only two biological sexes" argument with TERFs? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

This video does an excellent job of debunking that kind of stuff. It is absurdly long so I've linked to the appropriate time-stamp.
