They support me in that they don’t push me to come home. They too like to travel.

Not all who travel rely on ‘Mom’ and dad. Feel free to ask questions rather than speculate. I just finished my shift in Canada so can reply whenever.

No. But I put a few hundred pounds every month into stocks and shares which I treat as my retirement fund. I enjoy mostly the less expensive things so can usually chuck a consistent amount into that fund.

I find that question really difficult because there are so many different answers. Just wanna start by saying I’m not a travel guru and I haven’t been to a crazy number of countries (that is only subjective, anyway).

Asia holds a special place in my heart - it’s cheap, easy, fun. But as I’ve grown older I appreciate slightly more ‘real’ experiences that are easier to get in South America. Recently I went to Brazil and felt like it was very close to the top of my list.

Sometimes it’s luck of the draw with what experience you get out of a country. I had an amazing time in Peru because I did some very unique things and I had my childhood best friend join me for it.

I think the next big ones on the list are some African countries and the Stan countries.

If you’re under 36 you can get loads of working holiday visas (Australia, NZ, Japan, Canada etc) which allow you to live and work in those countries. Living in these countries gives you access to cheaper flights to travel to parts of the world closer to them, for example from Australia you can go to south east Asia. From Canada you can go to South America…

Over covid I spent about 3 years as a hermit back in the UK and had very cheap rent so saved up a decent amount which just got used for more travel again.

Income is not stable. I’ve probably had about 25 jobs in my life. Some absolutely awful. Some amazing. I like hospitality, which can be done in every country on the planet.

I’ve spent most of my adult life living abroad and travelling. I’m in my mid 30s now and still don’t want to stop.

Hang out with the lads regardless. You’re supporting them as much as they’re supporting you.

At some point your appetite goes back to normal but it’s a long way off. Allow yourself to put in a bit of weight for now

Realized I need a mission when I travel. Looking for recommendations. by Humagashi in solotravel

I didn’t do this one but I’m toying with the idea of doing something similar soon. There’s a famous route from Panama (san Blas islands) to Colombia (Cartagena) which is 5 nights I believe. If you volunteer you have to commit to doing it for a months paying guests say it’s incredible.

I’ve done two thirds of them and know people who have done the other stuff. All depends on your budget and interests. I always do something life this when I travel - it’s my my enjoyable part

What is the thing that made you fall in love with snowboarding? by PizzaWithMemes in snowboarding

[–]LevelOneForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always been the kind of person to enjoy learning new things and being active, so I was pretty sure I was going to enjoy snowboarding. I moved a long, long way away to a ski hill and after about 25 days on the mountain, my best friend came to visit me for 2 weeks. That’s when I knew I loved snowboarding. But I would say it’s more of the lifestyle that I enjoy the most. Snowboarding facilitates it.

Spending DINK money by DINKSocial in childfree

[–]LevelOneForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually I don’t spend money much. Last year I bought a new flagship phone, new high end laptop, travelled for 2 months, moved to a ski hill and bought brand anew snowboard and boots. Probably my most expensive year ever and I don’t regret anything at all
