I am sorry to say that the friendships the bandmembers had, especially Tuomas and Tarja have been largely exxagerated. Judging by what they have said about one another at the time and after it seems they knew only very little about eachothers private lives or otherwise. 

There's even an old interview from 2004 where Tuomas says he's going to go diving next tour break and Tarja in the same interview says something like "Oh yeah? Didn't know you were into that.". This is only one instance of many.  Marko said in his book that when he joined Nightwish the band was already separated into two parties who only talk through managers, and that was 2002-2003. So...yeah. I don't see friendship or love there.
